Veg to Flowering cycle change question.

I was wondering if it was feasible to start flowering by reducing the light on the timer from 18 hours a day to 12 hours a day over a 24 day period by reducing the light 15 minute each night? Is this okay to do or will the plants prefer just simply being in the veg state for the full 23 days then on day 24 i flip to 12/12?

Thanks in advance.

Stay high! :-o

yeah cool idea , i have not tried it my self but ive red about people doing it , [maybe a little quicker].They reckin its good way to do it because you can get more females because itr so natural . switching from 18 to 12 in one go must have a big shock effect on them as well i red so its a very good idea i believe . well worth it if you have naturals not fems

Yes, that'll work very well. You'd be basically mimicking Mother Nature, as if you had your plants outdoors, and they'll start flowering once the light hours are short enough to trigger it. You won't have to wait to get to 12/12, it'll start earlier than than, like 14/10, give or take. Also, your plants won't stretch as much as if you switched straight to 12/12. Your method, introduces them gradually, to flowering, and minimizes it.

Thanks Mullup & Jawbrodt! I was curious to see, because i remember coming across something about that method. I want my ladies to be ready for cutting around new years and they have roughly a 7-8 week flowering time. So, I will continue reducing the light each night from now until about the 11th of November. That way the roots will have time to fill up the new pots they were just transplanted into. Also The tallest one stands at about 11" Tall, I want to have them all standing at least 15-18 inch's before flowering.

Ill post a pic of my Massive Wattage set up.. :D I have 1x 1000w hotilux, in a coolstar plus reflector. 1x 400w Mh Hanging vertically, 3x 42w Cfl's 4100k, 1x 26w repti-glo 5500k, 2x 40w 48" T12 5000k Philips daylights standing vertically.. :D

A few photos for you.
