I say seedling = first 3 weeks
veg = as long as you want for your variables
flower= till she's done/ripe

You will know when she hits veg stage, thats when she starts growing before your eyes. Around the 3rd week or so.

agree...has nothing to do with light cycle. it's the age of the plant. 3 weeks from seed is probably fairly accurate.

actually quoted directly from the Jorge Cervantes Book....Vegetation Stage starts at 4-6 weeks from germination.

I dig Cervantes :leaf:. In my gareden I call veg stage when I see it. Thats when they start growing fast and taking nutes in with eagerness.

outdoors is a different animal too. vegetative state is the first part of growth, and indoors it's the times i mentioned. outdoors you don't have to sweat it, the sun's on it's own schedule. there's a seedling that grows to a fully mature plant, and then it goes into fruiting/flowering. it has nothing to do with the age of the plant. what would you call a 5 year old mother plant? it's a vegetative plant, LOL....

I think you should change your name to Silly Shagsnot enough :fire:
Just teasing. But have you ever looked at a bottle of nutes and the dose goes like seedling stage x amount veg stage x amount mature veg x amount and last but not least aggresive veg X amount.
Yeah has nothing to do with lights.
The plant starts as a seed, gets rootlet, then pops out of dirt and enters seedling stage, in this stage we feed her nothing as she has her own nutes she will be eating, until the cotyledons turn yellow, then we add nutes and wait for her to enter veg stage, thats where she shows her own worth and really starts to act like a weed and GROWS.

veg is as soon as a root comes from the seed and there is at least 16 hours of light veg just means you or natuer hasent kicked it over to produce fruit or seeds

i appreciate all the comments you guys. I was really just trying to get a rough estimate on the general length of time it will take before it reaches flowering stage. I know, i know it depends on many things but just the "rough ballpark time range" before it gets to be about a foot and a half tall indoors, (from sprouting to 1 1/2 feet indoors 5 gallon pot organic soil FF nutes 400 mh)

Start with 1 gallon until reaches veg stage, 3 weeks then 3 gallon until it reaches 12-15" then put in a 5 gallon and wait at least 2 weeks before going 12/12. I would say 2 months total time.
