Hi everyone, I searched but only found one thread that did not apply. Wondering if it's possible to put 1 oz in a vacume seal bag and take the air out. leave it in the fridg until needed? Or are mason jars using a vacume seal better? just looking to store and not have it all dry out.

Thanks!

Hey where do you guys get your glass mason jars? I have looked a few places with no luck. I'm in the US.

I plan to use vacuum seal bags. Let us know how it works out. If the bud is ready for storage, I would think they would work very well.

it won't be a little bit, but if you use em before i post back let me know what you think. I cannot believe no one else has tried this. I would use mason jars, but how long can bud stay fresh in them?

After watching many grow videos, it seems that putting them in glass jars works very well. Put them in a dry glass jar and somewhere dark. If the vacuum seal works let us know!! Good luck!

That, and I am not sure I see the value of using Mason jars. I actually have a container which connects to my vacuum packer which I will likely use for my own stash.

I am about 2 months out, so we will see. ;)

looks like we're both on the same time table.. I did not want to use mason jars, becuase of the amount of them i would need. that's why i figured vacume sealed bags would work best for bigger quantities.

I'm with you. I guess we will see together how they do. BTW: Here is the latest pic of my grow. Just took it a couple of min ago. Do you have some photos of yours?

Nothing works like a mason jar. The problem with the plastic bags is that they are not impermeable. They allow transfer of air through the walls of the bag. The freezer can be ok if you are leaving something in there for a long time. Freezing can damage the product so be careful. If you use large mason jars, wrapped with paper on the outside to make them opaque and keep them in a cool, dry, dark place then you will not have any problems.

Quart size wide mouth mason jars are easy to use, and I keep them in the case they came in. If you suck the air out of them with a vacuum sealer, then all the better. You can buy them anywhere, grocery stores, discount stores, hardware, etc. $10-12 for a case of 12.

Vacuum bags are great, too. I only use them for mailing bud.

The reason bags are frowned upon is because over time friction from rubbing will actually rub crystals off your buds. The best way to store them is in glass jars. Store the jars in a dark place and check your seals every month. Reseal if necessary.

Also another reason for not storing in the freezer (I just learned about) is the humidity). If the seal leaks the humidity can cause mold problems. If caught in time you can just redry your buds.
