using a 400 watt hps highbay light

:-?i have recently got a hps highbay light and have been using it for about 3 weeks i am wondering would it be better to take the reflector off and use the light lower and to the side of the plant???????? were the lower buds will get more light and the inner buds?????? i have atleast twenty little buds on my female but they seem to be growing slow? just a question any thoughts would be appreciated thank you!

def better to take the reflector off for heat issues. If you mean make it a remotes ballast where the bulb is on along wire and the actual ballast is farther away. If you mean the reflector then just get some reflective mylar or mylar coared bublewrap at a hardwarer store. As for the buds then that is more diffucult now as usually some traiing ant topping is done toget a more even canopy and also becaues that center larger and higher bud is going to be bigger anyway as it has been programmed by auxins in the plant to be the biggest. However more light to the lower buds will make them considerbally larger. Just get is as low as it can then pull the side branches out with strings so they get as much light as they can. You can harvest it at different stages but yu might only gain a week or two. GL>

well have been using the light for 3 weeks and have never had a heat issue? it stays 78-80 all the time and the humitity is 40% just wondered if i took reflector off and moved it lower were the plant is next to it would it help my yeild?

after the top buds are ready to harvest and you cut them off, you could just let the lower buds flower for a couple more weeks

sweet man thank you for the advice think ill just leave the reflector and do it that way seems to be goin okay
