Upgrading LED Lights

Its 10 bucks why not. It helped turns out I under estimated box fans but everything else was close already by just say divide 55w fan by 3 since has 3 settings and just assume each one is that many watts. Worked for the lights but box fans arent 18w per setting.

Box fan starts at 40w 2nd setting is 46w 3rd is 52w. Well I guess I will dim lights accordingly which if the perpetual flow is staggard I can have one blasting in mid flower late flower and the others dimmed at early flower. Whatever works. This little thing is cool but yea it doesnt measure surge watts just peak usage theres a difference.

I just for one dont want my dumbass to hurt myself with those advanced meters and two I dont think I know what all to get yet. I need to look back in thread but kinda conflicting atm I read the model suggested wont measure surge while one here said it does. Its 100$ mistake to make so want to be sure but this little thing is cool.
I don't know anyone that ever bought a meter to measure surge current, why be so concerned about it?

Compressors in two 270w dehueys and a 830w portable ac on its own circuit thats not really used. Its on one outlet though and have a ps4 on it which is 300w with 100w tv. Just knowing would help.

I estimate the dehueys to be no more than 220 surge watts added to its operating use because the fuse didnt blow. It had like 1400w in use when I started the dehuey up.

So the second dehuey is on surge protector deseigned to wait 3 mins before turning on if power is disrupted. So if power goes out it shouldnt blow the fuse as it starts up delayed. Both on continuous use so it should turn on compressor asap within 3 mins.

That just means the second dehuey could potentially wait 6 mins after power on to turn on compressor.

Upgrading veg tent. Got new lights and going to redo the drain system from flood tray to all drain trays. Going to put bags over the pots and trays sealed shut. I like the performance of fabric pots but after seeing gnats lay eggs under microscope I dont doubt they can lay eggs. Where the roots poke out.

Want to keep up on my IPM its going good just got to stay one step ahead of bugs. Box fan above bar light now in my entire garden.

Damn. 150$ light and risk another return defect or just get a vipar ks3000? $220 for veg light is overkill though. It turned on then unplugged it then never turned back on.

So just harvestin tired af. Giving it few days to think. Im thinking $220 for ks3000 aint bad considering Im already getting defects. $150 light sure but if ut breaks in a yr or two thats $300 when the ks3000 could last many years.

Its mine. I just said f it buy once cry once. Should last 5-10yrs especially on lower settings and on GLR schedule for veg. I got the ks3k.

Phase one upgrade complete. Now to re do the drain system.

So the power cut just like I feared it would, in and out several times before staying on. Good it stayed on but the dehuey just turned on and off each time. Shouldnt of the surge protector kicked in immediately amd kept it off? It eventually kicked in and shut off but damn, not immediately after the first cutoff.

It didnt blow the fuse and everythings running close to fullcapacity. Probably only 40w not used atm. So maybe it has inverter tech to use less watts to start up like it says.

They cant stand the cords. I dont mind them but my people do. I found out you can install a outlet chained to another circuit to serve as a lead. In this case just to remove the cords in hallway. Going to talk to them about it see if they can do that.

Right now Im having a generator hook up done. What I originally wanted but then was searching up that it would cost much more. And just like I figured, you cant just have 3 inlets for 3 cords to use the 30a and other two 20a outlets on genny.

So I was just asking if I can use one of the 20a outlets for the inlet but its 3 prong. I didnt think 30a or even 20a was enough for the house. Well theyre saying 30a is and that hooking it up using a interlock controlling the whole house is recommended. So Im doing that.

Gonna ask about it and show the grow and the area I think they can install outlet. With just moving something outward a little bit. Also to check that my setup is safe so my people cant say shit when theyre randomly feeling like giving my grow a hard time.

I want to have that piece of mind too, Im wrong all the time and this is simple stuff but you never know. Ive never heard anything that I should worry about 3 yrs into this. So yea theres an outlet on another unused circuit behind my wall they can just install it there. My people ok with it they just hate the damn cord.

Idk, just that a transfer switch and powering only one thing in the home was more money or work. That its cheaper and better to do the interlock. So my setup has to change, the cords are for nothing other than if I ever move out it will be all I have which will do. This was just so we have heat in winter.

For one can freeze to death for two the pipes freeze and burst now we need major repair and no water for my grow for unknown time. If its longer than a day Im already panicking. My grow is half in basement to veg it simply has to be. So it will get too cold.

Honestly if I moved out Id have bigger problems and this is just luxury while I have it. I accepted it would just have to make do until I realized I could do this. As a grower its my living situation too now as long as it gracefully can be. So I think about scenerios a lot that I just have to block out. Deal with whatever whenever I have to.

Like spider mites, thrips, legalization going backwards just to name a few. So I just try to think how Id do this anywhere else like people do. Its just easier when you live or know a cool homeowner but people grow out trailors, apartments for rent. Id just have to figure it out. So 800$ invested hope I get to use it.

Ran the genny to cycle in fresh stablized gas. I needed help pull starting it last time but not this time. Last time was the very first start ever maybe didnt have gas primed through it yet like a online search said. That it takes a few pulls. I must of warmed it up for them.

I struggled today like damn Im about to ask for help which would have to every time power goes out. Nope just the battery was off lol. Its always easier to start after its ran some so I wasnt sure since last time if I could do it. I did.

The struggling I did is probably what it would be like to start it in freezing weather. So yea good to maintain and see that it runs before a power outage. Get it lubed up. Next step drain gas in a few months then put fresh stablized gas and run it for 15 min to cycle in new gas through the lines and repeat.

What size tubing does this look like though? I want to buy some and hook it up to drain into a gas can. I suppose I could measure it and ask yall what you think it is based on what I can show with a tape measure.

Hell yea, got the inlet done. Generator powers the house now. Super easy to use its built dummy proof so the main and genny cannot be on at the same time. I just tested the circuit in the room next over there were two outlets I couldnt test blocked by furniture.

I finally got help to move it and found that two of those go to my room. So the furthest opposide wall outlet is the only one on its own and probably connected to room next to that which is used. It just makes for a mess of headache.

My people said ok well if its just for spring and fall for 2/3rds of that season as temps transition.. Its fine and even better so now when the genny is powering house in those portable ac needes months.. Just unplug it to use microwave or airfryer etc. The guy even said itll just blow and start over and figure it out its no big deal.

The main thing is just talk to me when using anything more than a light or something over 200w which they wont need. I could of had him look at my grow but we were all on a time crunch. I really think its fine and theyll only ask me what load Im putting on it.

That its not overloaded pretty much. Just all things that people are quick to point out here if something is shadey. They blew the hallway/bathroom circuit with a blow dryer theyre connected so we now know to unplug ac from hallway. When power goes out itll be a perfect time to play and see what is which circuit.

As is though circuits arent blowing everything seems fine. I just need to know if that hallway/bathroom is connected to another room over which may power the bedroom beside mine with one outlet. If that room isnt connected to bathroom/hallway then more watts for me, just unplug the ac before using something over 1000w or 600w continuous which they already dont.

So dont ask dont tell this time. I would feel better if they checked it out so Im not hiding anything from myself like if its fine its fine right. Well shit hollar at me if Im screwin up. I really built this from ground up wanting it as big as possible. This is a consequence but just doing what everyone else my size grow is doing.

There will always be a risk of fire not much more than anything electrical. Each thing adds to that risk. Its all things less likely to spark up though even a good search said that. And why insurances actually will cover it. I read otherwise at first long ago.

Sometimes I just ration things. The guy knows I grow I told them on the first call. I told them nust now its 2700w for my whole grow 800w for portable ac. You brushed over that? Must be fine. Like dude the fuse will just blow. If its not blowing or if I know about using only 80% of a circuit or anything for that matter..

I told them I was concerned Id mostly only have space for my grow and 9amps from the 30a for the home. No concern just said play around find out. Maybe the water is another concern but well kept. No outlets on ground. Not a 60 gal reservoir like before just 5 gal buckets and a 25 gal rez I dump frequently and tend to at half way to be safer.

My circuit I turn off and all outlets in my room are off and a couple in next room which blocked by furniture no one will use. My grow just so happens to have its own circuit lol. Nothing else turns off when I turn that breaker off.

Lookin at this next. I think mine is 450 or 300 sq ft so this actually would do good in my room I think. I can dim lights to accomidate and its dual hose. So no cord in hallway. Can use all year long besides winter and some spring and fall. For that I just blow air in with fan from outside cold air. $100 coupon right now so 400$.

Just not looking at it closely its nothing like I thought it was, whoops. Mine isnt no 300 sq ft its 150sq ft so its not much oversized and its handling a decent load. Shit I guess I got something good enough but dual hose would be better. I just cant help but have a cord out the room though.

They almost blew fuse using blow dryer and wont remember to unplug. That makes me nervous for power outage, will they remember to not use anything basically? Should. I just said screw it put a 25ft cord to the next circuit through the room next over.

Its not in hall way tripping people but its sorta that way in that room. The improvement is they wont have to remember that when blow drying. Theyre a little more ok with it. I should only do so when absolutely needed though and suffer 83F vs whatever I want (76F).

When home ac is on just take advantage of that and suffer a bit. I just got to deal with it it sucks. Maybe theyll just get used to it and let me use it when I cant bare the heat on a 90F day. Dual hose though but for now Im just sorta screwed. They age fast so itll be due to new ac in a few years one of those I wont even be growing if all goes well.
