Unusual question...

Just wanted to ask how I know when the male flowers are ready to harvest...? .....cause I wanna make some hash from the plant and I wanna let it grow as much as possible...here are some pics the plant is about 1month and 2weeks old. Do you think I can make hash only from a male plant with some quality high??

no not really. id just save the pollen from it and breed it with a different female

you have a very good ?, one ive never seen b4. to be honest i dont have a clue on when to harvest males. but you should still be able to make some hash/butter thats ok none the less. oh well, better than nothing lol

Why would you wanna be makeing hash out of a male,shit grow females and freeze any leaves that are taken of the plant the leaves around the buds will be full of thc.never known anything like this one dude i could understand if you were breeding but want to make hash of a male that has not been no where near a female it will do f@ck all to you honestly.by growing female plants you have the best of both worlds nice sticky bud and also the trimming's and even the solar leaves hold a little thc.[madness.]

lol, people do crazy shit man. i would make butter not hash but still, maybe its his first plant he tried to grow? or he doesnt have any females? or etc. i figure he's just trying to make the best of his bad luck (getting a male). if he also had a female he was growing (which he didnt specify if he did) i'd tell him to kill the male but if its all he's got he might as well make the best of his situation and get some butter to console him while he waits for a female to grow.

I was actually thinking of this yesterday because I just got a male (about 3-4 weeks in flower). Last time I let it grow 6 weeks and chopped but by that point the pollen was dumping EVERYWHERE and was making me nervous around the ladies, so I had to cock block him. I made hash (iso) after drying him a bit, and it's ok. But it's the darker gooey lower quality kind.

I would just bag up some pollen and be done with it. If you take out a scope and look for resin, you'll be looking for a while.

males have thc too...


i really wouldnt worry about what boneman says if a scope is what tickles your fancy by all means us a scope.

as people have pointed out your only problem is surrounding females getting ruined by the pollen. also it may be better to do an alcohol extraction
that way you can milk it for all its worth

1 lesson ive learned the hard way is if u gotta strain it at some point dont (ill use butter as example) put the weed in the butter without using something like a tea bag so the mj is so so so so SO much easier to remove....just thought i'd toss that out there.

I have a few plants that i dont know their sex yet....and this turnt out to be a male....and i dont wanna just let him pointlessly die so i thought of making hash from him...or is there a better use for him?

pollen can travel miles on the wind so if they are outside even if they are seperated by a distance i'd consider killing it or putting it inside or something to guarentee he wont fert any girls. dont visit it unless u have to cuz pollen will cling to you and return to knock your girls up. wear plastic gloves and stuff like that and just be extremely careful.

yea man i am....but i am not worried cause i got my other plants in the woods near a railroad and this male is near my house at an abandoned factory...so buildings are around....and i dont see any way how the pollen could travel about 5miles true the city to my plants

I'd keep it. Never say Never about the pollen though, you've got things like insects that travel for miles. Probably a one in a million shot but wouldn't it suck if that 1 in 1 million actually happened.

man it may not even be that plant that pollinates yours lol. it could be someone elses pollen can inded travel quite a distance. and one pollen pod has the potential to make hundreds if not thousands of seeed in the perfect cercumstances..

you may wanna go out and do a bit more research before ya go around giving people advise dude... males hold plenty enough to mae some hash oil or butter out of.. fair g nowhere near as mush as female but its there none the less..

breeders sometimes look for early resin production in there males that they seletively breed... although this shows that thatplant has good resin production it only means the kids heve the genetics to turn out with good fst resin production..

this is a good practice but still only part like i said thegenes are going to be spread out in a whole bunch of offspring there will only be a few that mimic the mother and the father. then with all the backcrossing and shit thats involved is how they stabilize the trait... meaning sometimes ou could make the wrong choice and make a move that oesnt benifit your plants by picking the wrong offspring to back cross and shit..

all im saying is if they didnt produce thc ther wouldnt be breeders doing such things.. like i said its nowhere near as much as on a female but there none the less..

ive made hash with males a few times.... works fine... ad not to mention the dvd's and books will all back up what ive just said and thats all i needa know.
