after all that shit I talked and I get hermied like a mother fuck. That sucks. i had to pull my plants early. I started noticing dicks all over the place. So I said to hell with it and chopped it all down. The buds are a little premature and there are lots of seed sacks that are undeveloped. It looks like I got a lot of hash and personal smoke and another failed grow under the belt.

I think I must of had some light leek with some grow equipment I had. I think maybe the LED light on my timer was too bright or maybe the AC LED lights were too bright??? I did have a lot of hot days in the garage grow tent. It got to 90 for about 2 weeks in a row. on the 4th of JUly my AC power tripped and there was no AC for 4 hours, then it happened again later that day for a couple hours!
So it was either the light leak from power buttons or the heat stress. Also it was Girl Scout Cookie strain supposedly , but then I find out that NO ONE actually has GSC except for like King Girl Scout or whoever the fuck made the strain IDC. FUCK.

So, several lessons learned this grow 1. Get better genetics from a more tested stain 2. Don't grow in the summer without the right equipment. 3. Make sure power lights are blackened. 4. Don't talk a bunch of shit about how good your grow is going on RIU or the weed gods will bitch slap you.
I've grown a couple different phenos of Girl Scout Cookies, and it's always dank and never seen a nanner on them.

Sorry the weed gods bitch slapped you, but yes your overly confident shit talking definately caught up to you. I thought you were some kind of UB type pro.

..........BUT I did get almost a pound of pretty good Sativa. I am getting hella stoned from it. I just won't try and sell any thats for sure.. I have a lot of hash too! QWISO and Bubble hash heaven .... Good times and hopefully better luck next grow. I am going to go with a Kush strain that is really common, that way I don't get some weird pheno bullshit
Sativas are more prone to hermies but I've never had any problems even with pure sativa like Dalat, Zamal or TFD's O. Haze. It sounds like you had some stressful events that may have triggered it but I wouldn't sweat it. A few seeds never hurt anyone, especially if they are a few. Usually means they're female. I aint buying this baloney that sensi is more potent than seeded.

If I was to ever order seeds again I'd stick with Sagarmatha, Sensi, or TFD. It's pretty hard to beat the original Skunk #1 or Sensi Skunk. I have to laugh at the names present day pollen chuckers give to their mutts. I have a feeling that the seeds being sold are due solely based on such marketing hype just like product labels and names.

Better luck next time. ;)

thanks for your time.

So true. I have seen 5 different strains of Girl Scout Cookies, not one looks the same. Blue Dream is a good example of a bullshit strain. Every club in Cali has Blue Dream and not one of the strains look like the other unless the same grower dropped it off.

I use to laugh at all the strain names until I finally broke down and got a medical card. Now I am forced to say the silliest fucking names to buy weed or clones. the Diesel strain and Bubba Kush are the most consistant strain from club to club because of the terepenes but thats about where it ends. Im going to try the seed breeders ou mentioned cuz Im tired of the Club racket and fucked up clones. I have enough bomb to last me 4 months or so, i will be patient.

And To BJ Diaz at least my buds never looked as unhealthy as your Avatar. what happened? that is nute or heat stress or probably bugs

LOL, if only you knew how many folks begged me for the bud from my avatar. It's called top shelf. What you see is tasty resin covered bud.

You got your medical card to buy weed? Why are you buying weed?

Environment plays a huge role in the end result, in fact environment in the key difference between a genotype and a phenotype.

Blue Dream is hardly a bullshit strain, you are simply uneducated. I guess you didn't really learn the first time you started taking shit.

Dan Kone said:
Blue dream came from Santa Cruz. It's a cross between this local haze this guy had been working on for about 7 years when he decided to introduce DJ Shorts blue dream into the genetics. He sprung up one random pheno in a large outdoor crop that elite. See, when you know what you're talking about you don't have to talk out of your ass.
GSC is real, and the different genos and phenos all share a commonality which is easy to distinguish. Don't buy clones off some stranger on budtrader should be the real moral of your story. My GSC came from a friend who had grown it out, and gifted me a cut.

Btw, here's a couple more shots from that same "unhealthy" crop, one around 45 days and another at harvest around 8 weeks:

Don't know about the Harvey Wallbanger. If you care to get a pure sativa (which is not for the faint of heart) inquire to see if it has any indica. Here's the original unedited conversation I had with TFD's gene man about their Haze. I ended up buying and growing out Thaitanic and Haze. I also did some interesting crosses with this haze - C99 and Peak19.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2000

High Uncle Ben,
My name is Sjoerd , I am one of the growers/ gene finders for the Flying
dutchmen seed co. In answer to your Haze queries: The Haze that we posses is
the original cross between the 4 sativa types you mentioned. It is however
not from Wernard, but from a guy known as Sam the Skunkman Sam the miracle
man etc. He created and patented the Skunk #1, the original hazes and also
introduced many other fine varieties to Holland in the early 80's. The
advantage we had was the hectares of greenhouses we had to select good
parents, and the patience to test the combining abilities between many of
the already selected parent plants. Since the Haze genetics came to holland
it was not inbred extensively so I can't tell you in which generation
they are in you would be better to ask rc. As for atributes the Haze we
have is the green haze. It was selected specifically for breeding purposes
that is to say don't expect 20% t.h.c until after you create your own F1
hybrid. from what I know Haze reacts better when you hybridise them than
when you inbreed them, It brings out the best in them.
Given the choice I would cross the haze with our Afghan Skunk or with the
Pot of Gold, it's more work as these are F1 plants already but if you know
what to look for you will get very interesting results. always choose a
minimum of 5 parents of each sex and try all the combinations to pinpoint
the best combining abilities. The Thaitanic is an interesting choice and one
in five do show a small number of male flowers late in flowering, mabey more
in the next generation, careful selection and some gentle light stress on
cuttings will give you an idea of how hermy they might be. the photoperiod
could start on 13/11 then to 11/13. or 12/12 from the start. If you want to
breed then an immediate short day would speed the plants up alot plus they
get mighty large if you veg them more than a couple of weeks. please write
back if you have any questions i will be happy to help. Sjoerd

Just want to send a huge THANK YOU to you UB. I'm one week into my first grow, and after reading this thread twice (took a month) I have just one goal: green healthy leaves. I'm sure I'll screw up a bit along the way, but it's always easier to achieve a goal if you have one, and thanks to this thread, and folks like you and KH, I do have one. I really appreciate you taking so much time to share your wealth of experience. Don't let the bastards get you down, you are a tremendous help to newbie's like me. A real accelerator of the learning curve.

Gracias.

HEy UB, have you checked out Bill Gates' program with the genetically enhanced Vegetables? Most countries banned the use of the 'super genetics' because , if I remember right, it also produces super weeds or a potential too anyways. You probably know more than me and I don't think I need to connect the dots but wow Imagine a Genetically enhanced Marijuana strain. now were talking.

gmo is a hot topic. imo why fuck with nature like that. natural selection and breeding does the job just fine imo. it's open for debate but there is strong evidence that gmo crops are responsible for the rapid decline in bees of north america. it's all connected.

Surely you can provide some documentation for that? Like peer reviewed studies that show a causal link?

ETA:

This is worth a read. The second paragraph contains a link to a PDF of finding from a study done on honey bees and CCD.

UB, Ed s book has a section on Negative Ion Generators. i put the Ionic Brreze in my grow room to help keep dust down. I have to clean the filter every so often so i know its getting dirt. ... i also use a air purifier fan and a charcoal filter can fan.

do you mess around with negative ion generators? i

I have always hated strain names. I use to make fun of them all the time back before I got a medical card. Some dealer would be like "ya I got the Blue Skadoosher today, its bomb" . Silliest fucking names. I also feel that it is holding marijuana back (somewhat) from being legitimate. Aspirin, Tylenol, Vicodin, Xanax, ----those are solid drug names, right? Aspirin did not go "gee lets call our night time blend Jedi Knight' ........Anyways, I buy weed from clubs in CA, and I have bought from a lot of different cities. ....no weed is ever the same. I can tell a kush smell and that Diesel smell pretty good but that is about it. No Blue Dream is same club to club. NO Girlscout Cookie is the same club to club. (want me to prove it? Show me two pictures from different growers of GSC that are remotely alike) or any strain for that matter......... look at all the different seed companies and try and find two companies with a similar looking Afghan Kush strain... you can't!

I think im just ranting but maybe there is a question here too : I am going to order those seeds you linked for me but in the mean time I am going to get some clones going. When picking my clones, how much weight or care should I put into a strain name?

Aside from varying genotypes, environmental factors play a huge role even amongst identical genetics, which is the actual definition of a phenotype:

http://bit.ly/1bFTQKa

phenotype
Noun
The set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment.
