Use the 16/16/16 and cal mag all the way through to chop
Thanks. After reading a bunch of UB's threads that was my first instinct, felt like I had to double check and confirm though since it's so different from the conventional thinking.

It will be interesting to see if I can get larger buds and a larger harvest than my buddy who grows the same plant. He's a heavy lollipopper, who says letting them yellow and die gets the best results. I'll admit I lollipop a little, bottom 6 inches or so on a large outdoor bush, but I do that in an effort to prevent mold and to build a branch structure that will survive the wind without breaking branches.

Tell him UB says he has it all bass ackwards. Sounds like an excuse to me because he doesn't know how to grow correctly, can't retain leaves in a healthy fashion cause he listens to and follows forum bullshit.

Use tomato cages to support your plants, and don't wait until the last minute to get them over the plants! :)

Thanks for the reply man. I assume you agree on the 16-16-16?

I would use tomato cages if they came in larger sizes. Thinking about making my own for next season.

That ratio is fine.

I made some very large cages out of a 5'X50' roll of concrete reinforcing wire. Pain to store but I grow/support maters that finish 7'H X 5'W.

Dude start reading. When you learn things yourself they tend to "stick" better to the memory block. Dont you wanna know why you should do/ or not do certain things to the plant?
What a waste of energi. This heat is killing me! Luckily my plants are more tolerant :)

UB, I'm still using the Jacks 30-10-10 and I'm starting to notice some lower leaves losing their green color and slowly dying. I'm about 2 weeks into flower. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to bump up the dosage ? I've been doing 1 tsp per gallon every other water. thanks!

Sounds like a root problem.

Question time for UB.

What are your thoughts on humic and fulvic acids pertaining to gardening in general?

They are naturally found in very high amounts in compost and peat moss. Would use such additives to my potting soil? No, don't need too because of the humus.

Thanks. I am aware of their presence in compost, and shouldve clarified that I meant as an additive, but you answered that.

So let's say you were growing in coir, would you then consider humic/fulvic a good addition?

I'm doing my own experimenting with soilless (coir) growing, so far with good results, and I purchased a bulk humic/fulvic blend...no overpriced water, you'll be happy to hear. I figure for less than $10 it's enough to make about 128 gallons worth of concentrate, so it can't hurt to play around with it a bit.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions. Not all of your advice falls on deaf ears and closed minds.

Make your life long gardening goal based on experimentation. That's what the pros do whether they're growing olive trees or cannabis.

after all that shit I talked and I get hermied like a mother fuck. That sucks. i had to pull my plants early. I started noticing dicks all over the place. So I said to hell with it and chopped it all down. The buds are a little premature and there are lots of seed sacks that are undeveloped. It looks like I got a lot of hash and personal smoke and another failed grow under the belt.

I think I must of had some light leek with some grow equipment I had. I think maybe the LED light on my timer was too bright or maybe the AC LED lights were too bright??? I did have a lot of hot days in the garage grow tent. It got to 90 for about 2 weeks in a row. on the 4th of JUly my AC power tripped and there was no AC for 4 hours, then it happened again later that day for a couple hours!
So it was either the light leak from power buttons or the heat stress. Also it was Girl Scout Cookie strain supposedly , but then I find out that NO ONE actually has GSC except for like King Girl Scout or whoever the fuck made the strain IDC. FUCK.

So, several lessons learned this grow 1. Get better genetics from a more tested stain 2. Don't grow in the summer without the right equipment. 3. Make sure power lights are blackened. 4. Don't talk a bunch of shit about how good your grow is going on RIU or the weed gods will bitch slap you.

BUT I did get almost a pound of pretty good Sativa. I am getting hella stoned from it. I just won't try and sell any thats for sure.. I have a lot of hash too! QWISO and Bubble hash heaven .... Good times and hopefully better luck next grow. I am going to go with a Kush strain that is really common, that way I don't get some weird pheno bullshit
