Will do. It was to good to pass up so got the 1000 with the bulb. Great price. Currently I'm using a cheap hood similar to the euro reflector had to use this to hold me over for a while but am redoing my flower room so have been doing some research on them and light distribution. You have posted a few good links about this I have saved as well as looking through Jorge's book again. Gotta do the research before buying the product. I'm thinking the blockbuster hood as i heard good things about that might need something a little bigger though. my room is a 6x5x8. Anything you would recommend? I think i remember you saying you use more of a home made hood? Will be buying this week thanks for any input

They don't need 24 hours of light either.

Light saturation is the point where photosynthesis is maxed out and more light is not used by the plant for energy. This can damage plant cells, increase the rate of transpiration while not increasing the rate of respiration and cost you $$ in wasted electricity.

To maintain a healthy body, you need to balance the amount of calories you consume (respiration) with the amount of calories you burn (transpiration)
Not to start a war but, i've done the 24/7 lights and 20/4, 18/6. Constant light for 4 weeks will be the same growth if not better than 18/6 run for 6 weeks. If you do the math it's actually cheaper to run 24/7 when it comes to electricity use. And the plants are much denser under constant light. Lot's of stretch giving them the rest period in veg. At least for the kush strains I have run.

Hi guys, I have a quick question, but first a bit of context.

So today I gave my outdoor, inground plant her first real feeding, what I mean by that is that I had fed her before, but not a substantial amount and nothing that had a decent nitrogen content. After reading through this thread, I decided my idea to go "organic" was misguided at best, and at worst likely to cause less than ideal growing conditions for my plant...that's the long way of saying I bought some Jack's 20-20-20. As I said, today was her first real feeding in the mid-afternoon...I was going through my garden a couple hours ago (2-2:30 am) just kind wandering with a flashlight, I checked my plant and noticed a pronounced aroma coming off of her.

So here's the question. Am I crazy, or did a proper feeding cause her to produce more of that aroma? It was noticeable before if I did a stem rub, but this smell was easily detected without even bending down. Not a particularly important question, but a curiosity nonetheless.

I doubt if the feeding had any impact. I added a lot of blood meal to my soil mix once and did get a whiff of ammonia coming off the pot. The N has to be turned into an ammoniated form before nitrate. Same with the urea in your 20-20-20.

Can't resist going a bit off topic. This poem from Charlie Reese, former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel who nailed congress and the President.

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table,
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for
peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid...

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
'Taxes drove me
to my doom...'

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'
