I do like cob. I have a Chinese 1500w cob pulling 600 or so from the wall but it's grown some decent weed so far. Genetics play a huge role in what you end up with as well my first few were doomed from the start but I still got a couple ozs dry off of them each. I have since switched to a much much better breeder and I can see the difference majorly already. I'm running green crack now and it's a beast of a plant, but it's all due to genetics. I'm just giving it the environment it wants to thrive.

Where did you get your genetics.. I've been contemplating attitude or a us bank but I wanted to grow some old school strains to start. And he's watering as I took the pics

Lmao. Maybe I am just medicated af right now. But I have no idea what the 2nd half of that means. It definitely sounds serious though lol.
lol stay medicated bro

it means hes using 9 cobs in his fixture

5 of the cobs are 3000k spectrum( heavier on the red)
4 of the cobs will be 3500k spectrum, adding a little more blue

vero29c gen 7 is the model of the cobs hes using

Im hella baked too, really felt the need to explain that for some reason lol

I am doing fastbuds genetics right now but they are auto strain specific. I have not done any good photos yet. I just started with bag seed photos to wet my feet a bit before making an investment then went right to the autos. I have heard and seen good things from humboldt seeds for sure though. I watch a grower on YouTube pretty often and he does some great photos from those guys. I order from seedsman. They are based in Spain but they give good freebies of their own genetics which are pretty good from what I've seen as I haven't grown any yet. I have a handful of cheese photos and blue dream autos they sent with orders for free and they also carry the breeder specific promos they may be running at the moment as well which is nice.

i been following this whole thing, yes those were too dry, your buddy should of watered a day or so prior to that pic. They even look droopy like they were way under watered. Good thing is, its MUCH easier for a beginner to fix underwatering vs over! If what im seeing was droopying from water then do not let him do that in flower .... 2 or 3 times of that will drop yeild by 100% or more. DWC is something your wanting to do on your own, correct? i believe the ones you have now are in peat mix. Honestly its hard to go wrong with hydro and following someone else directions. DWC is a bit more hands on ...gotta watch the roots a lot.
Good luck on your journey and hopefully you and your buddy are still friends after this...:bigjoint:

Yea this grow was my experiment. I wanted to follow this from start to finish to see if I could diagnose things and get a sense of what it's going to be like when I do my own grow. I understand rdwc will be more hands on and I'm willing to put the work in I've been researching for months on end learning so I think I'm ready. I think we will still be friends I just wont invest in anything with him anymore.

I don't have time to read all of the posts, but I'm growing in coco now and your plants don't look like they've been fed properly.
Do you have reliable PH & PPM meters? They don't have to be expensive. Got mine from Amazon <$50 for the pair.
Ideally, you don't want to flip to 12/12 until your plants have good color and high brix.

This tray was flipped a couple of days ago:

Initially he was using some nutes called elite the guy at the hydro store recommended. The plants weren't growing I asked him about ph he acted like it was no big deal. He kept the room at 73 degrees f. I offered advice from what I read and he didn't want to listen to me since I've never grown. Once this grow is finished I'll wash my hands of it and do my own thing.

He's watering in the photo

Is that hose hooked up to a reservoir or is he just watering with plain water? Those pots are twice as big as they need to be. I'd cram all those plants to one side of the room and turn off a couple of lights. How high are those lights anyway? From the way that guy is standing and the way those plants are stretching those lights could probably be lower. Tell your friend to wear eye protection while in the room! Good grief. So much wrong here. But if he's just watering straight tap water with that hose... Oh never mind. I can't look at this thread anymore. It's too painful.

I feel bad for causing the forum so much pain... I'm going to delete the post...He has disrespected the community enough.

Sorry you can't :), its trapped in internet forum history now!

However I"m interested to see what happens as they start to flower.

Have you learned from this? If so, then lets sit back at we can have a laugh about it.

I've learned to never invest in a grow where you aren't equal partners. Also the more research the better. I've been constantly researching for months..since he started this run and I'd do everything differently bc I feel informed. He's stuck in his ways so there is no helping him.

But to answer your question he has a big tote with water in it. I wasnt there before he started so I didnt see any nutes used. His lights are on the ceiling about 8ft high
1000w de hps. I suggested lowering the lights but he just cut them to 60% power
