typical wattage of a table fan

so i was going to wire up some pc fans for my new tent so i went hunting around my house for adapters. the ac adapter on my 10'' o2 cool fan says its 12 volts and the highest amp number i can find is .7 (there were 2 numbers for amps but one was for input and one was for output. the .7 was the output). this led me to conclude that this fan uses less than 9 watts, which shocked me. it's a 10 inch fan that moves a great deal of air so 9 watts seems very off. it also has 2 speeds, so i don't know if this measurement is for the high or low setting. i would love nothing more than to use this fan for my intake instead of wiring a pc fan but i am quite skeptical of my figures. is there something special i should look for on the adapter that would help me figure out the difference in watts in the 2 settings, or at least know for certain what the maximum watts are? are table fans usually this low watt? it also optionally runs on 8 D batteries if that makes a difference. i'm thinking it does...

I have a standing 12inch oscilating fan which uses 50w of elec.

i have a 6inch clip on fan that uses 15w.

I have an RVK125 inline duct fan that uses around 75w.

You may be correct but either way it isnt going to use a massive amount of electricity.

if it say .7 it is 0.7 a seventh of a amp it should be listed on fan not adaptor what the wattage is on the 2 speeds not the adaptor adaptor voltage says the same when switch to different speed unless there is a switch on adaptor for speed or is it on fan

thanks. that puts it in perspective. i searched all over the damn web but very few sites had any wattage ratings, not even the manufacturers. i don't know where i got this idea that fans used so many watts.

a computer fan typically uses a 1/4 of a amp
so are u wanting to use this fan or just the adaptor to run computer fans?
the desk fan should list usage for both speeds it will say have 2 numbers for example 22-28watts all UL listed appliances must list specs

the switch is on the fan but all it says on the fan anywhere about the power is right near the jack to plug the adapter in. it has a picture with a + on one side and a - on the other and it just says 12 vdc 700ma, which i assume means mili amps or the .7 on the adapter. nothing else. i would assume this is on the high setting but either way using 2 of these fans at the same on lowshould use less than 40 watts which is a big relief to me.

at first i was only going to use the adapter, but upon inspection discovered i could probably get better "fanning" by just using the fan as is.

yes mili amps and that + and - just show u which part of plug is pos and neg and then yes .7 would be the max high speed and i would use them too
good luck
