Very disheartening to hear that about the dnail one press but i kinda knew it too. When bman Would use that press, it didn't really look like it yielded that much more than I do with my straightener. It just looked more convenient to use lol.

yeah and you can build a better one for much cheaper. Even using the the 600 lbs. clamp with a 2" x 4" plate straightener is 75 psi

By the math and what Dnail says theirs produce.

1500 lbs. Bman said it's really 900 lbs.

5x5 plates - 60 psi or 36 psi. Definitely equivalent to a straightener
Damn that seems real low pressure for the price of the unit. A hotronix sts 6x6 label press does 100psi according to the tech ay Stahls and that unit is only $800 but it only has one heated platen.

Does anyone know how much extra yield is pulled from using a pneumatic press vs something like a dnail press or t shirt press?

one of the guys I know that have RT's says he gets 18 to 25% not sure on dnails watching bubbles review of the 15x15

on the 5x5 and the 15x15 bubble man is having to press it more then once 2 or 3 times, he did 4star bubble that yielded 14 grams off of 41

I don't think yield necessarily changes but the quality does. With less heat and more pressure you can get that clear rosin with no color at all. With a straightener and my body weight I get that light yellow clear. I'm pressing at 310 F for 5-6 srconds.

With more pressure you can drop 221 F (activated) or less with flower and even to 150 F with hash / sift / kief / iwe. But press anywhere from 10 - 30 seconds depending on temp and psi

This is Tony Vezura's IG. I think he uses a hydrolic press

I press my flowers twice. Sometimes 3 times. With a straightener

when i press a full bag, say around 10 grams, i press it several times, but i wait for it to cool before pressing again. pressing when it's hot only darkens it and makes it taste like burnt popcorn.
Boom, that's why my second press tastes like vape. I don't wait, I thank yee kindly. How long do you usually wait?

Pretty nice video showing a person using the clamp and getting ~20% yield on nugs. I guess really the best test I can do is, press out a gram of bud/hash and see the yield with a clamp and do the same amount again without a clamp.
I feel like when we say body weight, example me being 200lbs, it isn't all my weight centered on the clamp like I'm a brick. If I calculate the area of my foot, where I stand on the straightener, it's 4.5" x 3.5" which is 15.75 and then divide that by 200 (my weight) 200/15.75 that's ~12.69psi compared to the clamps 114.2psi. Or otherwise?
