okay yea youll have plenty of watage but the 23s might be useful for suplementary lighting and developing those sexy extra bud sights
im only growing one plant this time cos the fuzz took my last 5 but ive just put her into 12/12 after growing her to nearly 2 foot on 4x 11w 2700 they are only small bulbs but they are working fine, my last plants were 3 weeks into budding before i lost them to the old bill but they looked really healthy. ps i got my bulbs free in the post from our local government. :hump:

Dr cronic I plan to start a grow in a tent with the dimensions d= 2' l= 4' and h= 5' 5". would 26w cfl work to grow 6 plants in a tent that big? How many cfl's would I need?

Hi Dr. C,

One basic question that I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to: how much light per plant (or per square foot) is necessary when growing with CFL's?

I've seen a lot of numbers tossed out in terms of W/sq-foot and lumens, but they're all over the board--no clear answer. Other than the simple 'more is better', is there a minimum that you would say is necessary to get from vegetation through flowering under CFLs?

Thanks,
Munge.

lol ... its true the more the better.there is no magic answer for u
necessity is based on what YOU want.

you could probably have 1 cfl for 4 1' plants ... they would grow... but not very well

for me, i find 12 25W CFLs are all i need for my veg room (could flower in there too if i wanted)
10 of these cfls veg 3- 3'plants 7 - 1.5' plants
and the last 2 veg about 14- 5" clones

batter up

Hi there i was just wondering about dual spectrum cfls that are 2700k to 6400k, would i be able to use this for the whole grow with 2 additional 25watt cfls which i could change from veg to flower bulbs.
Any advice plz.

i bought 12 26/100wt cfl's and one 65/300wt cfl. my grow room is a 7-6x5-6x5-6 room. but the one65/300wt cfl i paid 8times more for seems to be giving off the same type of light. is this true cus im thinking bout getting a bunch of small 13wt cfl'sand placing them all round da room with hanging Y-sockets. how smart is that? and would it be a better idea?

Im growing with CFL's right now. I have 1 6500k 105w (= to 500w) over the top about 4-5in away from top, and a 2700k 105w(= to 500w) off to the side of it like a foot away, and two 2700k 20w CFL's about 4 inches on either side of the plant (only growing one at the moment). Its a clone, this is what i have at 1 month. It's at 13in now and the stem seems to be sturdy enough for the size. what do you think?:hump:

I would grow one two or three plant and get a female then clone her after 3 weeks flowering and your . trying to grow in a small place like that is hard but with some time and learning abouts controling your space you'll be good
