Yup! I've got the "inside" completed, and its at the lathe buddies shop getting it seated in the can. I should have it to show you pictures of within 48 hours.

Hey kittie what mil tubing are you using to make Those bowls? I work soft glass myself but im thinking I could figure it out. It's that fancy glass on connection that looks tricky.

50x5 outer tubing, 17 color sticks inside, and then 26x4 inside that, melted down on the mirages biggest flame and then pulled down into a small two inch section, spiral, wigwag, wigwag, wigwag, spiral, then attach back to the ground joint and shape back to a sphere, then make the dome/slide.
Its a lot of work =) =)

Wow that's beefy tubing. hope you're using a vacuum to help compress that down. So I guess what I need is to find the supplier of ground glass backs and attach my own bowl. So without all the deco what mil tube would thou start with for a bowl?

Yup, there's a vacuum that helps gently suck air out as it melts down. The tech is called "Vac Stack". Somewhere in this 26 pages of this thread is some prep work and pictures/talk about vac stacks. If you were just using clear glass to make a spoon with, 4mm thickness is good to learn with, the diameter is up to you. Some folks make them out of 26x4, some 32x4, some 38x4, some 44x4. All depends on the size of what you want to make. I'd start on the 26x4, its already mostly the diameter you want for a spoon.

Wow! Very nice glasswork! I'm so impressed with how quickly you picked it up & progressed- excellant job! & even more impressive: self-taught! I've skimmed thru the thread after the first 8 pages (lol, my ADD settin in) just to look at your artwork & how it's evolving. what talent! Anyhow, did I miss a change to your website? as I tried to click on the link in your post (somewhere around the crayon red/crayon orange pipe) & it directed me to search engine for kittys & glass-LOL again, congratulations on taking your interest in glass to a hobby & business....that's just awesome!!
