Maybe brush up on history. Islam has a little ways to go before they catch up to Christians.

Maybe a mix of both is the best answer. There is no right answer. No one really wins in war.
I may have not seen combat but I know what it is to shed blood, sweat and tears.
I was worked like a machine in an under manned job. I know it's why I have bad knees and back.
Not that I'm complaining. I was raised around it and knew what I was getting in to.
I understand the concept of what you are saying but the premise is flawed. There are plenty of vets who support Trump. Not all of them are going to be for a war but there will be quite a few and they will be vocal about it.
Then there is this idea that only a person who'd been in a war "should" make the call. Because the president and congress alone have the power to declare war, that restriction would eliminate any candidate for congress or the presidency.
To me, the problem is the lack of honesty and intelligence in the GOP congress and the WH.
Obama quite rightly refrained from escalating US presence in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Trump is talking about flooding Afghanistan with troops. I see the ability to make good decisions as the issue with who should make the call to declare war, not service time.
