I have been following hp aero since i read tree farmers article also. I bought all the parts and was going to build a room to put the grow in but now i have to go stealth. I have a 6'h x 2.5'd x3'w cabinet that im going to build. I bought the cdp 6800 pump and took my old acc tank back bc it was too big. Is a 2 gallon rated at 150 psi ok to use?

yeah something about it stored on iphones if you have location services turned on it stores your location where you took the pics.
yea I just read about that if you go into settings you can turn it off

That was covered a few pages back, it doesn't make any difference if you're running 24VAC or 12VDC, you wire it the same.

Here is the post
thanks rom, I tried to run the 2 solenoid wires into slot 1 and 3 and nothing happened? any suggestions?

That's close to the size of my cabinet and I'm using a two gallon accumulator.

Only one of the solenoid wires should be wired to terminals 1 & 3, the other should go straight to the power supply.

I have a veg and mom chamber i just finished and its about 3'h x 2'w 2'd... What is yalls take on just keeping all my equipment in that cab(pumps, ballasts, res, ect...) and using the flower chamber as an all in one chamber?

Id keep the res acc and pump outa the cab cause you want to keep the nutes around 60-65 from what ive read. somone sorrect me if Im wrong.

No reason that wouldn't work, I have everything in a single 78x48x20 cab. I would try to keep The mist delivery system out of the flower chamber so that you can deal with issues during the dark cycle. The nute temps aren't as critical in HPA because the roots are not soaking in the water.

Update: HPA, aka AA (Atomized Aero)

I am experimenting with 5 clones from BK-1. All are very mature (~8" colas), but one is actually growing. The others are all bud, but barely fillining out. The obvious problem is (and has been) proper root misting.

Due to not having an accum, I have always struggled with proper misting to the roots in the farthest corners. These roots keep drying out. I have been hand spraying to keep them alive. A couple days ago I went so far as to replace my 33g pod with a 18g, but still had the problem. There must be some resistance in those corners. This causes me to increase mist cycle ~ 4 seconds, which causes the roots to get too wet, preventing root hairs.

The other option (which I have been contemplating for some time) was to move the mist head from the side of the pod to the center of the pod, thereby reducing the distance the mist has to travel. I mounted a bulk head fitting to the side of the pod. It has 1/4 push connectors on each side, so the tubing that the dual head is plugged into is fairly rigid. One could support it, but ~ 5" of rigid tubing is up to the task.

Works like a charm. I should now be able to reduce mist time < 2 seconds, which is much closer to the ideal short wet/pause cycles.

I began soaking 8 BK-1 X seeds yesterday (Winter Solstice), so will get to see how well this works for young plants.

talked to an old timer who grows aero and swares by root pruning. I just did it to mine last night and they are still thriving. just clear that up!

HP aero has not been very lively lately. Just thought I'd give an update as to where I'm at... I build new lids, taking AJ's advice I went with 3/4" foam, and glued some formica to the top. I chose formica because it came in smaller sheets than 4 x 8... I'm hoping the thinner profile will give me better results. Gonna try some different nozzle placement as well. Here are a few pics. I got the girls in a tote for now, getting some roots established.

when your misting time is not dialed in (too long) long roots are soon to follow. I found pruning to be beneficial to develop tighter root balls with root hairs

DH.
Ok, so my solenoids are connected to 3 & 6 and are the black & yellow wires. The power comes in at 2 & 7 (white wires) and gets a jumper to 1 & 8 (green & red) Hope this helps. I do advise you get a stronger power supply. It might work now, but the potential for fail is not worth it.

Oh, and I think you're ok using aluminum. I think most will tell you that even a little bit of brass isn't going to hurt you. Just my .02
