Wondering how these look? Ready yet? I've never went by the color of the trichs so I could use some more experienced input. I hope you can see the amber/yellow/brown color in the trichs. She's been on 12/12 schedule for 78-79 days. The hairs don't look to be receding but the amber color is there. What should I do? Harvest with the sight of this amber? Will she swell and swallow the hairs or will the trichs degrade before that since they're already changing? Thanks for your input.

I don't think so....calaxes need to swell more....still a lot of white hairs which I've chopped w several white hairs before but my calexes were swollen to the fullest....u want ur calaxes to swell....that's a for sure sign of maturity...more so than hairs....trichs are tricky...I don't think those buds are done....10 days maybe.

Yeah I looked again.... they look about week 6....they haven't really started their final growth spurt and swell....20130204_112228.jpg20130204_111917.jpgu can see her how calaxes swell....

Agreed, at least 10 days.

Here's a few examples....

Not nearly done, 2 weeks or so till finished.

Clear as mud?

Good luck and have fun growing

Soon.... Clear Tric's are mostly changed to cloudy/milky....

I see no amber...
You are close...

Like all have said above...
Your time is right...
Tric's 95% good...
Very soon... and probably one or two days either way.... no big deal...

Looks tasty, ENJOY!!

Yeah I keep waiting on the calyxes to swell. The pic isn't great but there is 5-10% amber. I would assume that the trichs of a sativa dominant don't degrade very fast as I've been seeing some amber for 3 weeks now but she just won't swell I'll try to wait a little longer though.

Both of the less rigorous rules are met, as both the bud leaves are dying back
and the pistils are half or more dried up.

....just more evidence that those are either ready, or close.

I am no one to talk, as I harvested a tad early previously, but that
was caused by a bad crop sequence set up and not by choice.

Great work!

agreed..without fan leaves, the plant cant do much more growing. it will only die/over ripen from here.
I was thinking along the same lines. I see all the changes but no swell. It def looks close based on trichs. I've always went by hairs, not trichs or swelling so I'm really interested in the difference. I'll check her after dark phase and make a call. If I see any more more then she's a goner. Thanks for the replies!

I've grazed but I do know it wasn't fully ready so I am very excited. Btw all, during veg/bloom. I fed nutes watered, watered fed again a ill stronger. Then watered, fed, watered, fed the rest of way. Stopped nutes about a week/week and half ago. Maybe this is why it's big, feeding more often? Idk. I'm growing in Ball soil so I do believe I've found my mother. Clone is in hydro and a freaking bush.

cant help you there, but the thc wont be fully active until it has changed from its acidic to its neutral form, which takes some time.

Is there a time when the trichs will mature before the calyx finish the swelling? Will the buds always swell over the hairs before she's done or can the trichs finish first?
