just wanted to share with everyone... the most recent batch of this stuff i made i added an air pump and air stone to the brew... not only did it not smell nearly as bad (thank god) but it fermented substantially and the overall product seemed much better.
if anyone is doubting this stuff seriously try it. i normally run completely organic but i got a sampler pack of the master a+b plus a couple other additives that i'm trying on one plant. the organics and the master line plants were pretty much equal until i fed the organic plants some of this alfalfa stuff. they blew up and left the master line one in the dust!

could you powder this and use it in the soil, instead of useing it for watering/feeding.

CandyLime12.... Yes, you can take regular alfalfa pellets (rabbit food) and powder them up with a coffe grinder. You can pick up a small 5 pound bag at Wal-mart for $ 4, or a 50 pound bag at most any animal feed store for $ 15.

One cup of Alfalfa Meal (which is just alfalfa pellets, already ground up), per gallon of soil works great. It not only provides the triacontanol, but a nice mellow NPK of between 2-1-1 and 3-1-2
.
Mixed directly in soil or watered in as a tea, either way works.

Ohsogreen, do you add anything else to your soil mixes along with the alfalfa? Most soil recipes Ive seen call for one cup of A. Meal per 10 gallons of soil which Ive been using. Id love to be able to increase the amount as I have a 50 pound bag of it as well. It'll last forever at my current rate of usage. I just dont want to overdo it because Im also using Espoma Plant Tone at 2 tblspoons per gallon of soil.

GUYS I USE TO USE SUPERTHRIVE YEARS AGO AND COULD NOT FIND IT ANYMORE.BUT JUST FOUND IN NEW NUG THE STUFF 15 YEARS AGO I USED ON A TOTAL OF 15 PLANTS THE 15 PLANT THAT I USED SUPERTHRIVE WITH NO SHIT WHERE 2 THE SIZE IF NOT BIGGER THAN ALL OTHERS.jUST STOP USEING 3WEEKS BEFORE FLOWER SO NOT TO CARRY THE TASTE OVER.PLANTS FLOWER STRONG I AM GOING TO ORDER NEW STUFF TODAY.I'VE GROWN FOR 18+ YEARS AND NEVER USED ANYTHING BETTER. CHECK THIS STUFF OUT.ONLY ONE NUTE SUPP THATS IT WOW!!!!!!

You dont have to crush up the pellets from what iv found. I had to go to a rural feed store and pick up the 50lb bag for 15, and you can just soak the pellets in water and they'll come out of the pellets and turn into mush, just stir after a while, and let sit like OhSo says. That bag is really cheap for the amount of goodness it contains, its gonna be a green year!

This is a great read, I started adding alfalfa to my soil mix recently and someone was fresh enough to hook up this link as a resource. I did a little top-dressing with my pre-established plants, might try the tea next week. Another great tool in my organic toolbox, thanks for the info.

Its good to see this thread around again. I think its a great product and its really cheap. I think I bought 40lbs for $18. And 40lbs is a lot of Alfalfa of Alfalfa. I add it to my soil mix in veg and in flower, for both in door and out door.

Let's correct this a bit.
It should be 1cup/CuFt (~7.5 gallons), NOT 1cup/gallon.
You will burn things up @1cup/gallon.

I generally put 1/2-1 cup of alfalfa in a bag for 5 gallons of tea. Just depending how strong I want it. A great N source. I would try to buy at a feed supply if you can. It will be much cheaper and you can generally get meal for the same price.
Yeah, for a tea, that's a good amount and about what I use, along with EWC and kelp meal.
But, 1cup in a gallon of mix/soil would be way too hot.

Good thread. I mix alfalfa meal into my soil mix, along with azomite, dolomite lime, diatomaceous earth, kelp meal, castings, guano etc...
