The reason I start my plants in small containers is to encourage a nice, healthy root ball.
Given unlimited space too early, the roots growth will slow the development of the actual plant, IMO.
The plant will catch up to the roots. Yes, the roots will grow while the plant 'seems' to lag. They have a tendency to equalize themselves. A root bound plant kinda stops growing above ground. Don't forget about the outdoor grows (and nature). Talk about a BIG pot!

so ????????????????? start sith small then go to 3 gal or start from 3 gal seed by the way the seeds are belladolla afghani sweet bud so which one???

start them in smaller pots in the beginning,just for the ease of handling...use this time to get ready for them to get bigger,and for getting your flowering area ready...transplant to your bigger pots when the plants are a foot tall,DO NOT clean the soil off of the roots,matter of fact,I try to keep the entire shape of the small pot,they will grow out....I have read where some growers just cut the bottom out of the starter pot,and bury the whole thing into the bigger pot....sorry for the long post
