Totally healthy, can I still obtain a medical card?

Nope, I havn't visited the dr., I'm considering all the info included in this thread and realize it was stupid of me to post this on a public forum. I guess it was a little misleading.

I do have insomnia, although I don't think I would need marijuana to help out my situation, I would much rather use that than anything over the counter or something else that could be prescribed by a dr. I have a million good reasons for this, all involving a much larger picture of the world.

Like it's been said, it's a freedom issue, if this is the land of the free, why am I not free to choose which medications I want to use? Racist, crooked people made marijuana illegal, why is it considered 'the right thing to do' to still follow those ancient laws? We're in the 21st century and enough scientific studdies have been done to prove without a shadow of a doubt that there is no need to make marijuana illegal, all it does is take tax payers money, put people behind bars, and spread more lies amongst the masses, while hindering any incredibly benificial medical research that could have been done, but wasn't under the DEA's fabricated war on drugs.

I actually like how this thread has opened up this discussion, thanks for everyones input, keep it coming if you have more to offer. :leaf:

Peace

I'm with you on the freedom bit, and that if you disagree so strongly that you shouldn't follow any laws you find criminal. But it seems you want to have it both ways. You don't want to follow the law, yet you still want a medical card. Why not just use it illegally as a medicine and practice civil disobedience?

To The argument regarding "faking" to get a MM card . I think everyone who smokes should apply for a MM card , Look, we all know that the laws against Cannabis are bullshit , but if those who make the laws give me a loophole , I'm not above a little bit of Bullshit myself, to further my desires. AND, if the system were flooded with millions of MM users / growers , what the hell are they gonna do ? THAT is the very nature of " Overgrow" , get so gaddamn many users out there that the laws against it become meaningless. Maybe this is the " TAX" that the Govmt. is looking for , we pay for a license and they say we are sick, OK smoke some pot...... they made the stupid fucking law , SO WHO is the stupid one ?

the first page of posts is full of haters.
Exactly, acting babyish. He's not going to be retarded just because it may "make MMJ users look bad." Obviously he needs to do what is best for him, which would be to do it legally and getting a card.. come on now.

If I were just going to continue smoking I think that's what I'd do, but I really want to grow my own, and according to norml.com, you could potentially get up to 16 months in jail for any amount of cultivation, even in California. I dunno if I'm ready to take that risk. Also, I would be growing on my dads property, and I wouldn't want to involve him in anything illegal.

Well, when you can come up with a logical way that going to jail and somehow 'fighting the cause from the inside' (of a jail?) would make some sort of difference out here in the real world...I'll be here waiting. But what makes you think if we can't do anything about it while not in jail, we could behind bars? How'd you get to that conclusion? :?:

you sound like you want me to turn myself in. i don't get your point. :?

so it's better to go to prison to "fight the cause", then to get a "fake" med card?

i never said you could do more in jail than out. they did it to me and they finaly gave up and it helped get my card thats more what i meant. dont you think if the prisona got to full with people trying to grow for med reasons they may look at it a little more serious. maybee i`m wrong.
and i dont believe i said i expect anyone to turn themselves in either.

i geusse what i meant is if it`s something i believe in enough jail wont stop me from fighting for it
