so in theory if i topped my plants very early in its life, say after the 2 or 3 node. it would then in theory grow to become almost the same yeild as 2 plants, or if not 2 still be a dramtic increase in yeild?

YES topping works great... i know this plant may look little but it has been through a rough life and gives me some good smoking .. it's a good example of a topping of a plant .. this one was topped by nature (deer) and was dug up by vermin twice transplanted 3 times.. so give it credit it was my only female outta 6 ...

if u top 2 soon then ur not gonna have a big yeild..... i think super cropping is much more effective then topping

wrong. if you FLOWER too soon after topping, you'll get a shitty yield. always wait a minimum of 7 days after cutting anything to flower.

Topping is essential to my crop. I can turn 16 plants into 8lbs. smoke by topping properly. When you do this you will also get some unwanted growth as well. These are the small branches that are doomed from the start. I do alot of clean-up on the lower branches to weed out the lanky branches and the small dwarfs as well. Topping is somewhat of an art form(Similar to BANZAI). You most likely will have to do alot of trial and error to get a feel for it. I find if you top 2-3 times you can create a nice canopy I would not recommend topping early it most likely will have drastic results. I would only top after the plant has developed multiple nodes and is somewhere under a foot tall. Here is my girls right before I went to 12-12.

we are, just had a hateful individual pop up out of the blue. thread is moving along.

topping early makes for a plant with more plant like tops (ie, two plants, one pot look). topping later makes big bushes.

my preferred technique is to grow to 14'', top, allow sides to catch the new tops, then flower. i've gotten up to 15.5 oz on a single plant indoors, dwc (i'll never do that again :p).

i usually top when i see about 4-5 nodes..
that way it gives it more time to recover...THEN smash it with bloom or seasol/ fish emulsion to make it grow ridiculous.
remember you cant never over nute on organic shit
