Took Everyone on RIU'S Knowledge(DO I HAVE EVERYTHING TO PRODUCE FAT ASS BUDS?!?)

Months ago I stopped paying for mid grade weed,
in the hopes of educating myself on growing top notch dank!
Anyways long story short, I did that,
and ordered some products to get me started..

Tell me what you think about my setup compared to your own? I was thinking about doing a scrog..

1. Secret Jardin Tent 2'8x2'8x5'3

LIGHTING
2. 400Watt HPS
- Cool-Tube w/reflector
-Pulleys for adjusting the light
- Dual Outlet Digital Timer


NUTES
-Fox Farm Ocean Forest + Light warrior (heard mixin is the best)
-Grow Big
-Big Bloom
-Tiger Bloom
-SOIL SECRETS EARTH ADDITIVES - EARTH AMBROSIA AND NECTAR COMBO..GOOD CHOICE??

VENTILATION
-Getting 170cfm inline fan in the future sometime.. Other than that what would be good sources of air?

Anything Else I missed?

6 inch clipon for stems,i would think a bigger fan though for the 400cool tube id say a 250cfm and use the 170 to exhaust with a filter

Dont waste ur supplies on shwag bag seed. Even if it is ur first grow ur gonna want a good end product after all the work ur gonna put into. Even if u make a mistake or too your in soil so you have some room for error.

At very least I'd try using the bag seed from the mid grade, wouldn't even bother with reggie, cause it's more than likely a sativ dominant commercial mexican and get's TALL. Look forward to seeing how you do. If you got a central unit on your house/ apt, adapt one of the room's duct vents into the tent. It's been working great for me. Very reliable temps that way. That 170CFM fan is goin on the inline for the cool tubes right?

dvsdsm - I will be hooking my inline fan up to the cool-tube, and extracting the air out of the room..Then another inline to blow air inside through a passive intake.

As far as the bagseed, I totally agree with you. I know crappy ass schwag buds probably come from mexico, and they produce tall ass sativa plants.. My whole thing is I believe I can scrog a sativa plant..And if it does get to tall i'm SOL..

I literally cant wait until I have working experience in growing, so I can purchase ANY seeds I want with confidence, and not thinking "hope im not fuckin this shit up"..

Buy some decent beans man. Just done use em all. If buy from a reputable seed company, youll most likely get 100% germination. start with 4 this time and save the rest. You should get atleast one female out of 4 seeds..

The best way to learn to grow is to grow the hell out one good strain. keep growing that strain till you think it cant get any better..

I agree with flip, spend $50 bucks, cop 10 good seeds, run 5 of them, (i ended up 4 fem 1 male off nirvanas' White Widow and still have 5 left for backup) and clone them bitches. Check out my grow, first one i've done in over a year and it's just a test run to get my green thumb back up. You can either clone them and take 1 clone after rooted and flower it to find sex or clone them and flower the big girls, discard the clones/ sire plant that turn out male (remember to label them so u know which ones to keep) I got 14 good clones off my 4 females and are lined up to go in right behind my ladies when i cut em down, that way you can keep a perpetual harvest if you want to.

Sounds like your on your way to some good buds. But dont use swag get some good beans . I use swag my first grow was really disappointed in final product . Grow went well flowered nice but the smoke wasnt an asskicking high like I wanted . But then again it was swag I started with . I got a few WW going now and I know the high will be well worth the time . Peace out and keep growing

Sounds like a great set up! One nice thing about just buying a set up outright over nickel and dime'ing them and the DIY is that you get a 'correct' system. So you know you won't be fighting the system, just the plants

Bag seeds? Whats the prob? If it was good weed, it has the genetics.
Good weed makes good seeds. Bad weed makes bad seeds.
Now the bagseeds probably has a bigger chance to go hermie, but free seeds.

Get Perlite! FF soil gets compacted.

As for the inline fan, what one you looking at? Please don't say the $30 duct booster fan at homedepot/Lowes. (I'm hunting down the right fan for a hood myself)

Oh, get yourself a pH meter, the FF nutes will drop the pH a TON.
(I could never read the fish tank color style. Longer I looked the more I saw what I wanted to see.) Spend a little on it. Try to get one with a replaceable sensor.
(if hydro is an thought down the road, think about a tri-meter pH, EC, & ppm)
though EC and ppm are really the same thing; just a calc. Same sensor.

Remember its an easy plant to grow, but a challenging plant to grow well.

BigBudBalls - The only reason I've been thinking bagseed route is because i've seen some fantastic grows on this site, and others. Still I think I will order the seeds from Nirvana.

Perlite does seem to be the best bet from what everyone is protesting, but how does FF Light Warrior compare?

As far as the meters goes..PH/Therm/Humidity/soil meter is a must for this grow.. Maybe i'll get a ppm meter, due to the fact i've read how they work when I was interested in hydo.

Hey, for the record, I was supporting growing bag seed. If the bag was a good one, its a great sign.

(people get wrapped up in how much they spent on soil,, nutes, seeds, etc, so it *must* be good. For those, I got a lower East River crossing for sale: reasonably priced. Can finance too.)

I haven't used the Light Warrior so can't comment.

For the record I have had schwag thats got me higher than primo buds so I support this msg.

I think bigbudballs is right about the ph tester. I know in distilled water that tiger bloom will show around 5.0 which would be pretty bad for ur ladies...

I still think if you crack those reggies seeds ur gonna be disappointed...

I dont know about Nirvanas seeds, theres seed and strain reveiws. Me personlly tho i would get these Sensi Seeds Hindu Kush Cannabis Seeds Marijuana Seeds. I mean 50 bucks and they come in breeder packs from sensi. If you look its a very fast finisher. Which a beautiful thing in a first grow. The big reason im showing u this one is because its a tried and true strain many growers have loved it and theres alot of grow journals and other information about it. I bet ull have a blast growing it!!! Waaaaay better than any schwigity, fuck what anyone else says. FLip

flipsidesw - I am going to get a ph tester FOR SURE, because I even know without that, im fucked.. I was thinking about getting a ppm meter as well so I can be more accurate with my nutes(scared of my plants getting overfed causing nute burn.)??

As far as the seeds go, I appreciate you posting the site up there where you get seeds from. I've also heard skunk, kush, and white widow were fairly easy to grow

It seems like everyone on RIU has knowledge to share. I guess If I can order the seeds without getting screwed it would be lovely. I've never ordered online but do like the kush recommended.

I will be doin the bagseed as well as some dank seeds..Once I find a seedbank someone is willing to back. I live in a state where this is considered illegal..
Anyone willing to share their experience dealing with seedbanks?

id go with the bagseeds as long as you remember it smoked good and had a good buzz..ive gotten fucking beautiful plants outta bagseed so i wouldnt be all negative about a seed you bought from a dealer ..its just like the bag of dank you dont know the name of you know?

70/30 mix of the OF and LW. OF will get too compacted without LW.

Genetics are key. You can get great weed from good genetics even if you fuck up. The latter cannot be said of bag seed. Nirvana-shop will come through, but i suggest attitude seed bank. They will come through to the USA within a week or so. Nirvana will take longer.
