Too much heat...need to get rid of this 1000watter

Ok so really no idea what I was thinking ordering this system :dunce:

I have a 7' tall 5' x 2.5' closet(now realize I should have gone with a 250-600w) so not sure if it's even worth it to try and set up a cooltube?

If not, does anyone need a very lightly used 1000hps setup for cheap? It has the blub, electronic ballast, and reflector. got it for 200, so asking $150-obo. Also I would be willing to trade for a couple smaller lights with someone trying to upgrade. Not trying to solicit or break site rules but thought it would be sketchy to post on craigslist or something...
 
Is it air cooled? A good fan should be able to cool that. If your venting isn't up to snuff even a 400 is going to get too hot in that space
 
before u get rid of it try to vent it. it should be a cool tube. then put a fan in the door or wall where u can get rid of the heat. u have a great light. keep it u may be able to use it when ur ready to expand.

Nope just a regular reflector. I think ventilation is probably my main obstical. I guess my head was clouded by all these big dreams I had for the closet and kinda overlooked the whole stealth aspect since I'm in a condo/apartment type building :/

yeah condo's definitely suck. not sure if I can even run this thing if I had proper ventilation because of the spike in the power bill the owners will see..
 
so, anyone have a couple 400 watters lying around they wanna trade for a 1000w? could just save it I guess, for future grows? i just don't see it working in that closet or a small like 2 x 4 x 5' tent
 
If you have a through the wall condenser or a condenser or dryer vent, get a high temp clear tube and run a 100-300cfm fan to the AC or dryer if it's electric....just to mask the heat, and it will be an outside outlet. Dunno what else u could do.
 
I run a 600w cool tube in a cab 2x3x4 high. I just run the room air thru the tube during the winter and shut off the heat vent for that room... And when it gets hot out, I aircondition the the small room the cabinet is in and suck air in the tube and exaust heat outside...
Ventilation is as important as your light choice
