Too Much Air?

That's it.. Can you have too many bubbles? I've got a pond pump on the way, it's adjustable so I'm not sweating the purchase. But, just curious if jamming your res with too much air might create issues. I'm using water farms with no main res

thks

I wouldn't worry about it that much, worse comes to worse just put it in a
separateroom with cooler temps that it's pumping out.

What kind of pump is it? My danner/pondmaster and GH don't really put
out that hot of air, no hotter than ambient.

Come to think of it tricking out a cooler for air lines might help on my H20 temp as well. I know I'm going to have issues with that once summer hits. A bag of ice every 2-3 days in a contained cooler may do the trick.

Thats a diaphragm type pump, so you should have no issues with heat build up, that is more the commercial type pumps, something i didn't learn until too late. Not a bad idea to cool the air somehow, but i have not found a good way to do it in my little room.

Would probably be hard to regulate the temp. I'm thinking the length of the air lines submerged in ice water would determine the overall effect of system. If it even will work. I have a ton of old coolers lying around so I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Yeah i don't have enough room for that, tried a bag of ice and a bowl, but didn't work out well. I just plan to but a new diaphragm pump when i upgrade and craigslist the commercial air pump.

Before panicing and trying to cool your res..... why not actually wait and find out the ACTUAL temp of the res before deciding whether to cool.
I blow a shite load of air through mine and still have a HEATER in the nutes. 24 degree's is fine or there abouts.

You mention the commercial air pumps, I ordered one and it's on the way thru mail. Are they bad? It is a 70 LPM commercial air pump from eBay

I'm not worried about the air pump anymore. Still curious about too much air causing probs if anyone has info about that I'm all ears. I'm thinking of location of my girls -I'm going to struggle to keep it below 86-88 in mid summer so any way I can get the water temp down is a plus. I don't want a super res with water cooler. I got girls at all diff stages at all times so one nute solution will not cut it.

My bad, threw my own thread off course lol

Yikes, if your reservoir temps are looking to be 86-88 you're in for a world of hurt

Your pump isn't nearly enough to cause any kind of an issue with "too much" air. I have a
danner that puts out much more air and the plants absolutely love it.

Not sure if my h20 temps will be that high. The 86-88 I stated is going to be the ambient room temp. But, i'd like to keep my res' as cool as possible. I'm still struggling to find the res temp majic number for MJ hydro.

water can only absorb a certain amoun of o2 at certain temps...I don't know the figures of hand....but point being after a point you are just blowing air...oh yeah...try wrapping the buckets in mylar or that bubbly, shinny foil wrap used to insulate pipes....cause 24degree roots are gonna be a BIG prob...things get very tigh in those buckey once plants get big.
good luck.
