yes, I have been to Bend.
i went Octoberfest and thought it was pretty lame. I walked around town, and drove about all over, and stayed a couples day.
I went to Smith Rock State Park and loved it for a day with not desire to ever go back to Bend ever again

The Sisters, Mount Bachelor, Pilot Butte, The Old Mill District, etc.
I really loved it there, man.
I also went all the way up to Tumalo Falls.

I saw Smith Rock and the Bend area in 2000. I loved it there. I like open country. The night sky was lovely dark.
I'd rather be lucky than good.
