TM's 3K OP...version 2.0

well here we go again round 2. i just pulled down my 4th grow about a week ago.. for those of u who missed my 1st journal, i pulled about a elbow and 5zips off my last journey. Along with cutting my girls down, i also took down the op, and re did everything from scratch. Thermodynamics wuz whooping that ass, and I needed more space for my requirments.

This new grow will be of a perpetual nature. there will be 2 rooms.. the veg will be a 6x6 room, and the flower a 12x7.

the veg room will be running a 400MH , some cfls, and a 4ft 2tube floro. there will be 2 4'' active air blowers, pushing and pulling air in this room, along with a couple of fans for air movement. this room has its own 20amp breaker, wired by me.

the flower room will be 2 1k lamps, and a 600 in the middle. daisy chained to intake on 1 side, and exhaust on the other. also a active air blower for intake as well. also 11,000btu portable a/c for heat control. so room will be 2600w hps. This room has 2 dedicated 20amp breakers wired with 10/2 to heavy duty outlets.. theres also existing outlets in there with another 20amp to support it. I will eventually change wiring a little to incoporate a CAP 240v master light controller, but in no way am i maxing out my breakers or wire.

This will be a foxfarm and sunshine soil grow in 5gal buckets for the budding. strains will be known on tuesday. this thread is for all you'alls personal enjoyment, so fire away (with some rep).....

ive got a update on my cured bud.. yesterday i dumped most of it...ive got a quarter pounder royal with cheese left over.. i decided since they still had alot of moisure left in the jar as of yesterday morning , to uncap the jars for a lil while.. well i forgot and last night in re capped them.. they were dry as a bone, and all densed up. everything is now rock hard, aromas are fruity as hell, and taste and high at there peak...uuuummmmmm...

i wonder what that smell was bro!! i looked but couldnt find it.. should figured it was your buds!!.. i bet that shit is good as hell.. wish it was just a hop over to your place rather than a hop skip jump and long as car ride... LOL could have one hell of a bluntfest just trying eachothers buds..

Have you tried a test with out the lenses on to see what your room temp will be? Are you gonna try light movers this round?

Pinn glad to have u onboard for this 1...i havent tryed it without the lens..but i can say that would defeat the air cool hoods in my opion being wut im tryn to move the intake air over the hoods and exhaust bulb heat..i did notice tho the lens and how they seal in the extra sun hydrofarm hoods is junk, but i will be switching to 6'' hoods eventually with a sealed pane.. i dunno.. light movers nah.. i never felt for them much unless i had a akward space like a long closet run.. i feel they leave areas shaded regardless of the spread they create... so id rather have ultimate penitration with all 3 lamps stationary..

so the lense seal is shitty on the sun hydrofarm reflectors?? can you just get some new weather striping or something and re-seal them?? i guess it doesnt much matter if you are getting 6" reflectors eventually anyways..

i feel you on the light movers.. they seem like a large investment that isnt much worth it.. unless you have a long ackward space... but you should have plenty of coverage with the setup you have without the movers... and what happens if your fuckin railing breaks or falls?? holy shit.. that would cause huge problems..

they claim because of it gradually moving about u can keep ur HIDs closer with the movers..which i doubt to be true when i get my hoods down to like 10in being that there aircooled..and i dont like the fact they dont get direct light continuously during there lights on cycle.. now if i had a 400 sq shop that i couldnt afford to light properly i might run light movers until i had the $$ for more lamps.. cant see it any other way...

extrasun is 1 of there cheapo hoods.. extrasun a/c hoods rock tho.. only 3 bills to switch out..but then i got swtich my ducting up..not a big deal..but im done playn builder bob for at least 8 weeeks..

i guess there are some applications for light movers.. but you can still get a few lights for the cost of a good mover.. i think it really comes down to heat... i suppose if you use movers you can use fewer lights which would mean less heat.. but i still think more light is better than a light mover..

dont blame you for wanting to not fuck with construction or switching out stuff.. it just takes a lot of work.. it ends up worth it in the end.. but you can only do so much... and you have done a SHIT load of work over the last week.. you need a break!

ya ...true i have totally gone nutz in the grage... wiring the panel..framiing rooms...mounting parts..i think the worst part is the 1k -1500 ive handed my hydrofarm vendor.. just wish the shit wuz free.. i had a nice break..my mom wuz here from friday night till just now..so me and my girl and kid had a good visit with us.. she dropped dime and bought us a dresser for every room.. stoked.. i bought 2 zipper kits for creating doors.. i also picked up some 6 mil black poly...i intend to make these doors for the ops.. i fired the MH up and its runnin 24/0 till i get my timers fingered out.. ive got 1 widow mom, and 1 Blueberry mom under the MH , tranplanted in2 3.5 gal containers.. i bought a bale of sunshine..then got home figuered out it wuz #3 sunshine, which is a germination mix..real light, and instead of perlite, its got vermiculite.. pissed me off, cause i bought it bought 30 min from the house at a nursery, i explicitly asked for the other stuff, but they screwed me.. im stuck right now between duct taping it back up and going in and bitching , or trying to use it.. i though it might be good mixed with something, but this soiless mix alone, would be real light, and too light to support a large plant..

i know how you feel about cost bro.. shit is expensive!! its gonna be almost $750 for the new equipment im getting just for the veg room.. and that still doesnt include the other 4K i need to finish out the entire room!! its actually down to a little over 3K tho with this new hydro guy i've got...10% on any order over 1000.. 5% on any order under a 1000... either way i get a discount... plus he'll match whatever price i give him.. so if i do some searching on the interwebs im sure i could get it even lower.. guess it just depends on the work i wanna do...

i almost got some zipper kits to use as a door between the 2 sides of my grow room.. let me know how they work and how much they leak light.. i still might get them.. just put up a solid wall of poly and use them as a means to get back and forth... verse using velcro..

thats a tough call on the soil.. i would personally go bitch.. especially if you asked for a specific product and they still failed you.. you drove all that way to give them your business.. the least they could have done is get the shit right..

im glad i live where i do. i can cut my grow setup cost adown a great deal.... lights is pretty much all that cost me the pennies..... now i have to break down and buy a new hps bulb. i can really tell a diffrence in bud growth as the light gets worn out.. 5 growes is a bit too much , think i'll change every 3rd grow...

well the got me kinda of looking stupid..cause i asked the lady that helped me pick out a rose bush for my girl if they carryed bails of sunshine and she explained i didnt want the germ , i wanted the #3 which was general purpose..then i get inside to the cashier and naturally ask for #3, which the retarded outdoor employee told me to get, which is the germ shit... so i loaded it , and didnt look at the packaging.. ahhh im pissed.. plus i had to transplant those 2 moms to bigger containers so i ripped the bag open and took from the top. think theyll take it back since they provided shitty info.. duct tape it back up..get high go down there and bitch.. its lowes all over again damn

Ya if i still lived in CA id buy hoods and ballast off of craigslist..id lurk around like a perv waitng for some fresh meat..and when i saw that thick and full 1000watter id pounce..
