Tiny white bugs in my soil?

There is like a thousand of these Assholes in my roots but not on my leafs. Now how do i kill these things? What are they? How do I keep them away?

Sound like fungus gnat larvae. Have you seen any tiny little black fuckers flying around your growroom? If so that's probably what they are. :blsmoke:
 
Nope nothing I knew I shouldn't have bought that plant home if they haven't began flying yet how do I kill em?

If that's what they are there is a product called Gnatrol. It's a biologic so there is no poison. It's a special type of bacteria that kill the larvae off. You'll probably need to apply it a few times just to make sure you get them all and they don't reinfest your garden. You can also do a neem root drench. Whatever product you choose make sure to use it a few times, spread out over a couple of weeks to make sure you get all of the little buggers. Best of luck. :bigjoint:

Take a closer look at the underside of an affected leaf. It could be a spider mite problem. Spider mites don't typically hang out in the soil but who knows. Neem oil is good for spider mites or fungus gnats. I know lowe's carries a brand of neem oil called Green light. I've not used it but it should work for ya. You want to use a spreader/sticker when using neem for it to be effective and I don't think they carry those at home depot or lowe's. bongsmilie
 
I know what you have,I had them also at one time in my DWC system. What they do is leach onto your roots and any moisture around the base of the plant,soil, and in soil to your roots. Dont get or use neem oil the stuff doesn't work trust me. Their is a lot of more potent chemicals out their that can salve your problem, like doc111 said apply it a few times whatever you get,but make sure it's diluted enough,You fix this and your plants will just take off,they slow plant growth like you wouldn't beleive.
 
They are either aphids or white fly's if i remember right. Definately not spider mites,but it'd check for those too,just look on the underside of your leaf's for little black moving bugs.
 
Thank you all I just got back from the store i got a can of stuff that kills all of the above haha But those F*ckers ATE MY ROOTs. I transplanted the infected plant to a bigger pot and all the roots at the bottom were dead. Is my plant going to die?

Probably not. Any of the roots that come in contact with air will die. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about. Even fungus gnat larvae rarely kill the plant. It may lower your yield a bit but your plants should recover just fine. :weed:
 
i think they are called thrips i have them most times in soil actually they are beneficial so i dont worry could also be caused by overwatering hope this helps
 
Very good idea transplanting it. About what moodster said, thats not true. Read this small article on thrips,this is what you have i'm sure. http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/thrips.aspx Let me know. As for what doc111 said he's right as far as soil goes, When I had the thrips it completely stopped all growth,because with deep water culture they attach right to your roots no soil in the way. If I were you i'd transplant that to a big tub of soil and bud it "asap." Stay up Oregon.
 
The new growth on my Tahoe OG is only growing 3 sets of leafs on each leaf.. As to it was growing the normal 5 before. Is there a reason for this or anything I should be concerned about..? Anyone got an idea?
 
critina987 if your leaves changed from 5 fingers on a leaf to 3, it could mean your lighting hours are way off and it's started to flower, or your not getting enough light for your veg cycle. what are your growing specs?
 
me bad i ment u have springtails and not thrips and springtails are harmless also they float to the top when watered and they jump +rep if i have helped
