Time to stop nutes? (pictures)

Hi all. This is my first grow and I'm at 7.5 weeks into flowering (Power Africa - seedbank says 8-9 weeks). Judging by these picks would you say it's time to stop all nutrients in view harvesting in 2 weeks? I really don't want to ruin things now I'm at the end of the process. Thanks

Yeah dude the leaves are turning start the flush. I think when the hairs are 3/4 red then harvest but it looks good n ready. Nice strain, they look sugary

Thanks. The leaves on one plant are curling up and inwards but I think that is due to the closeness to the lamp at the moment. This has been great fun - I'm really looking forward to smoking my own grow

Flushing is for toilets. It's like this - Do you starve your tomatoes the last, and most important 2 weeks of their lives? No. Because that's when they need the nutrients most, as that's when they are in the most vigorous state of growing...

It's a decent cure that gives you the best tasting buds, not flushing your medium.

94% Cloudy - 4% Clear - 1% Amber trichomes= Gnarly tasting, heady smoke, every time...

I agree with pinworm on the trichomes thats the real way to tell when your ladies are ready,i posted this link on another thread and recieved a like so this should hopefully help. http://www.budsmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/2940when-to-harvest.jpg

But i dont agree with not flushing, flushing with quarter strength nutes has always worked for me. Some flushing nutrients help to tell the plant its dying and force the plant to put everything it has into the last of its production. I also think its helps with a smoother smoke after.
Everybody does it their own way just try them all and see what works best

How is "flushing" with 1/4 strength nutes different than "watering" the plant with 1/4 nutes?

I don't buy any of the flushing BS, but it sounds like your just watering well with reduced nutes.

Really nice plant! I don't flush in soil. I add molasses to my water during the whole grow. I just stop feeding a week or two before harvest and keep the molasses. Keeps the microbes and such in the soil going so your plant eats up everything left in the soil. At least that's my thought on it.

Stop nutrients. let grow another week, you have a 14 day harvest window - just feed water until harvest and when you flush you are cleaning the plants veins not clearing nutrients

yup.. dont go by the hairs. go to radioshack and grab yourself a scope. or get one off amazon. dont go by the hairs. every strains different. go by the trichs. thats how youll know when youre good.

Thanks everyone. Just to clarify, if I do choose to flush, does that mean just watering with no nutrients, or actually pouring enough water through the soil in one go that will flush all the nutrients out?

It sounds like quite a few people advise not to flush at all.

Also, from the close picture it looks to me as though most of the trichomes are currently cloudy. Would you agree? If so, is now the time to harvest? Thanks

Looks like there has been loads of newbie questions so mine has dropped down. Can anyone let me know what you think about the questions above, please? Thanks

I'd estimate you have 2,3 or possibly even 4 weeks left to get best out of the plant. Try to be patient and let it go its full length. Keep your eye on the trichs to be sure but I would say too early to stop feeding. Flushing is a choice you will have to decide on but I'd say too early yet.

a soil flush is normally 2-3 x the soil amount so 5 gallon pots get 10-15 gallons water but only use as a last resort to (try) and fix lock out issues or burning

Seems a real mix of people saying to flush or not to flush. I take it from that people have had success either way so it's not worth worrying about. My plants are in 10L air plant pots with soil. It's bloody confusing how everyone contradicts each other, but the majority at least say to not give nutrients for the final week or so. According to the seedback's notes, I should only have a week left of flowering, and the plants look healthy, so I'll just carry on with the no feeding idea and just use water, but not flush.

According to the cannabis bible, the next stage would be to cut at the base, and hang for a out 3 weeks before I start the curing process. Any alternative suggestions from this, or is this the best way forward? Thanks again

When did you start counting your mj as being in flower.,

I ask because if it was when you flipped some people say to start counting flowering from day 7 of flower,

others say when your pitils appear,

Im a noob on my 1st grow, but from reading varying people opinions on here I would lean towards the argument of not flushing

and get a loupe to check your trich's, you want you girl to finish bg and beautiful…. harvest only when minimal clear trich's are left…..

have a gander at this thread regarding curing, A Perfect Cure Everytime

Nice bro….
