Three Florida Recounts

Each of our 57 counties set up their own ballots. There are guidelines they have to go by, and they must be approved by the Secretary of State's office. Unless there is some court order or something I don't know about, Snipes' office sets up their own ballot just like everyone else.

All voting machines are required to be tested before elections. That is done in an open way, where anyone can come watch. All possible vote combinations are marked and tested to make sure the machines read them right. Some counties are better about doing this that others.
Not saying there is anything wrong with the votes that got counted.

It's the shenanigans behind preventing people making those votes that have me in a lather. 57 counties, each with their own systems? Oregon has one statewide system. I now understand the root of the problem down there.

If it weren't for a really badly designed ballot, FL would have elected a Democratic senator.
if it weren't for the mail-in's postmarked prior to deadline sitting in opalocka, never delivered..we'd have a democratic governor.

this is where a discrepancy lies.

  1. date of postmark used to be considered date of delivery
  2. SOE requires delivery of mail-ins to be in her office by deadline
SOE should change mail-ins to date of postmark rather than the 7PM deadline when polls close there are too many in this county to count in one day- other states do it, so they don't look like fools. why can't we?

if we had a statewide system they wouldn't be able to suppress the vote.

266 votes wouldn't make a difference. It does show the casual attitude Republicans have towards counting otherwise valid votes, I'll grant you that.

266? Pooh.

More people should have volunteered.

Maybe he lost because of all the billionaire money... or that one time he pandered.
Add in the 3000 votes that were "lost" in paperless electronic machines and the number starts to approach a one worthy of attention. But then again, those 3000 votes cannot ever be counted.

google is your friend.

i did.
That's fucking rich coming from you considering the fact that you ask for citations for the most common things possible and also make up fake news - for example, the arrest of a person with a "Fuck Trump" bumper sticker on her truck. I asked for a citation on that - where was your smart ass answer then?

I asked for a citation in this case because I refused to believe that there were enough votes in the mail processing center to swing the election - and I was right. So are you really saying that 266 ballots would have made the difference? If that is true, every one of the individuals who had time on their hands, supported Gillum and did not volunteer is responsible for his loss.

Please do yourself (and us) a favor and realize that you love Trump. He's racist and narcissistic - all the things that define you. If you go over to the other side, you might even get a guy who is hard up enough to tolerate spending time with you.

So Gillum lost and now you seem to be calling the election rigged. Goddam, you deserve Trump. Just think of it, you could be the #walkaway poster senior citizen.

Can I start saying that Gillum is a bum just like Clinton for losing a close election?
He pandered. If he won he would have been a brave Progressive and Bernie's number one prospective running mate. But he pandered so he lost... otherwise he would have won if he hadn't lost.

Any state or county that would choose a voting system without a paper backup is just asking for trouble.

Yeah, you are right,

Gillum is a bum because he lost a close election.

pandered, took money, Clinton even showed up for a few hours.

Gillum is a bum.

I have high hopes he can make a stirring speech at the 2020 convention.

"I accept your nomination for..."

VP?
Gillum was beaten by a toady for the worst politician of all time. How can we possibly trust him after he took all that money? Obviously corrupted him because he let Clinton come to his state for a couple of hours. What nefarious plots were they hatching when they talked?

But, yeah, VP might be good. Maybe a Biden/Gillum ticket? Or perhaps Harris/Gillum?

He's young, good looking and a good speaker. If that alone sounds trivial, it probably is. But it gets votes. Worked for Obama and JFK.

And we need votes.

I always thought Hillary's biggest negative was her speaking. We absolutely positively need a motivating inspirational speaker, it's a necessity in 2020.

I always pick the person to vote for in the primary based upon what I want from the leader. Richard Ojeda, for example, is a great motivational speaker. He represents well on many other Democratic Party values but is terrible on economic, environmental and race issues. I'd vote for him if he won the Democratic primary but I wouldn't vote for him in the primary.

I don't really know enough about Gillum. It might be better to let him grow his political career and contend for higher offices rather than park him in the role of Veep.

Its all pretty early for me and I'm listening rather than deciding about the 2020 races.

Everybody's doing some early shopping around a little bit.

I've always been impressed by good speakers, but it could just be a nostalgic streak seeing as we haven't had one for 2 years.
