Interesting video.

My observations... they appear to be growing in 5 gallon buckets, perlite + vermiculte or coco (can't tell from the images). Are they doing flood and drain?

I'm a sad soul so I counted the number of day/night cycles and what they seemed to do at certain points:

1. Start from clones
2. There were 28 day/night cycles before the first defoliation. They seemed to remove virtually all leaves and small side branches just leaving tips and stems at this point (see 1:10 in the video)
3. Flip to 12/12 at this point
4. There were 20 (maybe 21?) day/night cycles until the next defoliation. They removed all leaves other than sugar leaves coming outta the bud (see 1:30 in the video).
5. Leave them to finish off.
6. Harvest.

What made it interesting was seeing the time lapse of the whole grow start to finish.

Yea, what I'm thinking is that the stuff doesn't come close as far as taste goes. Everyone knows soil grown weed is better tasting . Might not get the same yield but I personally think taste is pretty important. Nobody wants to smoke weed that tastes like shit . Do they ? Lol I'm a firm believer in organic soil.SCROG with Supersoil all the way all day for me and lollipopped and add some cold pressed kelp extract that doesn't burn roots and provides all the macro nutes. Just my opinion and way though . I'm not pulling three pounds a light though lol

Disgusting. Just another guy cashing in on new growers ignorance...Selling his specialized watered down nutrients. Lol hes probably gonna make more money off his shitty book and water bottles than he will by selling his meds!

All these respectable people claimed they'll buy the book and upload it in PDF for the world. Did anyone actually go through with this or was it all talk?

I did a run with moderate defoliation. And I did a different run with zero defoliation with a different strain, different set up, different grow medium, different watering method, different nutrients. Ok pretty much everything was different between the 2 runs. BUT....

The difference I noticed between the two runs of defoliation vs zero defoliation has absolutely nothing to do with strain or anything else. The run with zero defoliation, I noticed that all the buds that were completely covered by fan leaves did NOT mature and stayed small and lime green and essentially unripened. Had I removed half the fan leaves from the top of the canopy, all those buds in the middle of the canopy would have ripened up and swollen up as well. I lost a lot of weight by not defoliating. HOWEVER...

The non-defoliated set up was a top feed to waste in 6x6 hugo cubes with drippers, half ass scrog with everything removed under the screen. The plants were grown in a half ass scrog that ended up stretching way too much. Obviously had I managed the scrog correctly, there would have been no "middle canopy". If each cola was about 8 inches, then there wouldnt have been much of an issue. But the colas stretched to 15 inches, and about 1/3 of the colas didnt ripen up or swell to full maturity/trichomes because there was way too much shade. I figured logically thinking, the fan leaves will take all the sun light and disperse it evenly. Same with the nutrients. Well, I was wrong. Wherever the light reached is what ripened. Where ever was shade, did not grow.

So my take away from this is that defoliating definitely can increase yield and overall quality if applied in the correct circumstance. If I were to grow vertically in a crowded environment, then I would heavily defoliate. And growing heavily and crowding your plants is the best way to use the most footprint and vertical space. So if you grow in this fashion then defoliating will definitely help and you would get the most grams per wattage than any other method probably. This is my understanding and opinion on the matter, without the experience to back it up.

That post was just brainstorming...im still brainstorming...so if you want to do a scrog with larger colas than 8 inches, say 15 inch colas scrogged with another screen up top for support. Thats pretty much a very crowded growing environment. In order to actually benefit from those 15 inch colas and not have 1/3 of the cola stay unripe, wouldn't moderate-heavy defoliating help? You would potentially lose some mass up top, but have the entire cola fatten up rather than just the 2/3 of the top. Now it depends on which one will produce more weight. Having the tops be fatter or having the entire cola be fat but overall smaller than the tops would be.

It would basically be a hybrid between vertical grow and scrog.

Anyone ever hear or know about if the “Three a Light” Book ever hit Any Torrents or Did anybody upload/pdf it anywhere...??? Been looking everywhere and I swear you’d think somebodied just Upload pictures of the Critcal parts and Share.... sigh

There is a huge thread already that has pics of the of the pages of the book.

A buddy picked up the book and it’s really just basic growing knowledge. From using leggy clones to topping and maintains a canopy. No big info there.

The defoil is where his tech changes stuff up a bit. He basically strips every leaf on day one and day 18-20. We are talking every one of them. The man hours to get it acomplished in a larger room would need an army.

I did it this round on a table of Sizzurp, striped everything day one and day 20. I noticed they started sucking up water like crazy. I mean almost double. Now they are nugged out and looking fuego . I’ll cut them down in a week or so and see what’s what.
