you will find out which are females quicker by going 24/7 for two weeks then switching to 12/12 , because your plants will only show there sex when there mature so let them reach maturity faster.

every situation is different but you could grow/veg the plants for bout 1 month and take cuttings, then after you clone/veg for bout 10 more days put they few cuttings into flowerin and in bout 2 wks you'll know the sex of each plant you took cuttings from and then you can do what ever you need to with them !! I'd personally dont like to revert them back to veg because of the stress and theres always a chance they might hermie on you !

I've heard that the best way to tell sex is to take a couple little clones off of each plant and put the clones directly into flowering, they'll probably live long enough to show sex and you'll then know the sex of their parent. I've never tried it though.

i would give ashort veg first .. and then 12/12 til sex.. then revert back to veg

Ive done 12/12 to flower and they grow 10x slower then when you veg and flower. Just something you should think about.

no this is defantly not worth it beacuse the pants have to mature to a certan age before flouring any way so doing 12/12 from seed will take alot longer to sex them from normal.

If you don't believe they will flower fast running 12/12 from seed you should check out the 12/12 from seed thread. I've had 6" plants show sex

Well, I've tested it about 20 times now and even did quite a bit of research. My findings showed that it is actually stressful on the plants because they are worried about putting out new foilage, working on roots, get established, and also putting out some buds. Just veg for a week or two and then throw them into flower. IMO you will get more bud and a healthier plant.

ok you didnt disprove me at all your right some strains show sex early but it will take alot longer to get them to 6" on 12/12 than on 18/6 before switching. make sence?
no it dousnt im speaking from experiance i have 3 on 12/12 from seed atm and had 3 veged first but 2 turned out male trust me on this one theres no logic to the 12/12 from seed thing.

if there is no logic.. then are you doing it.. 12/12 from seed will show sex 1st and it keeps plant shorter and more compact.. because the lack of veg time. it wont just sex itself and keep veggin like a 18/6 photoperiod. it will sex itself and continue on to flower granted that the "veg" period in 12/12 is slower when it starts to flower it is about the same.

even a week of veg is better then 12/12 off the bat. a plant must recognize light cycles in order to 'revert' to "flower mode". It must sense a change, and if it's only seeing 12/12, it wont go right into flower. it will act like veg bug just be lengthy and flimsy. give em a week in 18/6 then switch over. you'll be amazed at the difference.

this has some truth.. but if u give a week veg and then flower.. it will flower very small. where as 12/12 from seed will have some size to it

how bout picking a strain. do one batch of that strain 1212 from seed. record the earliest sexual maturity. say it took 15 days. then when you do batch 2, use a light schedule like 24 0 for 15 days. switch to 1212. everyones happy. then you would be able to take advantage of the full amount of predetermined veg time the plant has stored in its dna. anybody else read marijuana books?
