Hello everyone, I am currently looking into investing into a closed loop system in particular the 5lb Icarus unit from Best Value Vacs (BVV). I have not been able to find much information on this particular system but have found many decent reviews of other Extractors furnished by them. I have been in contact with them for the last 2 weeks or so asking lots of questions and getting all the info i possibly can on the unit. my question is if anyone here on rollitup has any experience or heard of any experience with this model? Also any pro's or con's they can see just by looking at the system?
I am trying to keep my initial investment of extractor, Vac oven and pump under $15k and am open to any other units within a similar price range and capacity. i appreciate your time and expertise in the matter and look forward to hearing your advice.

I have purchased my first vacuum pump and tank from them. Excellent customer service. I now just purchased their 2l rotory evaporator. Great company.

I have had this 5lb icarus wuth active recovery and input chiller coil abd molecular sieve wuth heatpad and 3.2cu oven for over 2yrs now, it was awsome at time but would definitely buy different one now that I have uaed it for 400 plus runs , get the mercianus model instead it gave hit vapor reloop abd will use less dry ice, i use 30lbs per run to dewax and recover ut cost me $100 run jyst for dry ice, then u need pail of iso another $150 abd u lose 1 to 2 lbs gas every run as stays in material ahhh, dont forget you need nitrogen regulater and tank nitrogen fir the assist, unit works great but would save butane/propane and dry ice with mercurius instead if icarus

The link doesn't work for me. I get a woops, not ready.

My experience with BVV has all been positive and their product that I've tested good. Their closest competitor is probably Terpp Extractors, if you want to compare prices and features.

I haven't tested their Icarus, but looking at the purdy peectures suggests that it should work. I didn't see any information on a unit named Mercianus on their new site, so no thoughts.

They suck. 4K down the drain. Old thread but spreading the word. After spending 4 k on a cold trap, it failed, they won’t even let me talk to technical support! Just front line telephone answerers. “They have four guys working on it”. Next sentence, they only have 5 people! Really! Used t80 colt trap exactly twice! Compressor on second unit appears to have failed, but who knows, NO SUPPORT. BVV sucks! I have a -80 freezer, rotovape, vacume pump, and Vac oven from they guys. I’m afraid my investment is gone! Stay the F away from these guys!
