This heat is f#@king me up!! what can I do?

GrowTech

stays relevant.
Move the load of a fan, air conditioner, etc to another circuit. Use a heavy gauge extension cord. :)

alrighty i diddnt see your last post before i posted that..but since its not working out for ya..u prolly should call the landlord anyways..i mean if its a 100..that cant be very comfortable to be in daily for YOU...let alone your plants..do you have another window in that room..u could stick a fan in to draw fresh air into the house?
thats your main goal at the moment..shit if ya can move her outside..at least shell get a lil draft and some shade..its always cooler in shade....
but looks like you might wanna see about putting it under the sink for a couple days...turn her sideways if you have to...
for the few hours they are going to be there..it wont hurt to lay sideways..u can grow your plants sideways like that for that matter!
hit me up if you need some hints..
keep me posted.

you may need to grow at night until you fix the ac

it worries the fuck out of me every time maintains needs to come in my apartment. I can't let them in alone so MrsRocket or myself must be there.

shit man, theres no way to move these plants outside outside. the circuit breaker is right next to the grow room, which sucks.

what do u mean about puttin her under the sink? u mean to hide the plants when the landlord peeps come or what? thanks for all the help man

ive been thinkin that too, but is it possible to just straight up switch the cycle from day being noon to midnight to day being like 8 pm to 8 am?

fuck i hope the landlord peeps can just fix this shit and i wont hafta fuck around with anyting.

my homies letting me borrow a super nice hood, way huge about twice the size of my current hood, so hopefully that should help a little. i also just put a couple frozen gatorades in front of the fan and am freezing a gallon of water for that too.

I did it in mid flower of my last grow, 15 girls on 12/12 from seed. I got just under a pound.

would it be better to have the extra 8 hours be light on or off?

That's one of those no one can tell and the ones that will twll you say the other is wronge for x.

I just would say a mess up here and there does little or no dammage (everyday is a diff story) so do what fitsyou life best it all come out the same (you have dope you grew) and after a few grows work on yeild.

I can't believe you are growing in a rented apt. Not the best of ideas in the first place.

Also so many people start growing without thinking out the whole situation regarding heat, air, intake, smell and the COST of things. It is not as easy as getting some soil, a pot, water and planting a bean in the dirt with some CFL over it. Just saying.

no that about all you need.

and be smart. have no smell. pick a good place.

most of us have to live in an apartment. i'd love a house. there are risks. but it's a risk just to get up some days.

be a nise neighbor and do supply lines after dark. i work second shift so this helps.

always be on guard!

Nothing wrong with living in an apt but RENTING one is a different story. Too risky for me, and that's a fact. :blsmoke:

if you do it it's a whole new level of risk and secerity. so do all the homework first. tell no one but you wife.

add a few extras (good filter ....) ond it like any other grow.

my next one well be in a highrise. whole new level. we may not grow there?

Sounds like you need to vent your hood if thats an option. I use a small 6 inch room-to-room fan, kind of like the one in a bathroom ceiling. I attached it to my hood with some of that collapsible aluminum tubing on the other end of the hood with the tubing leading outside. That will deal with 3/4 of your heat problem right there.

this is gonna be my third harvest in this apartment so u dont need to lecture me of the risks involved and about thinking things thru all the way.

we're gettin the a/c fixed today and my good homie is giving me a huge hood to use so that should take care of a good portion of the problem. will let u know

alrite yall the a/c is fixed. i closed the window and opened the door and have a fan blowing house air into the room to cool it with the a/c on. i also have a frozen gallon jug in front of the fan. its still 90 degrees tho. just waitin for that big hood

The big hood won't make too much of a difference. You should get a fan close to your light source to blow hot air through ventilation and out the now unused window. I do this and it works great for my 1000W, there should be pics and info about it in my sig.

Do not change out your breaker with A larger one! Only go with the one that is rated for the wireing... Do you have A panel in your app.? You could run A temp circuit in there for the meen time to run your AC! I am A electrican and I have seen some fires due to people not doing things right and trying to cut corners. And since you are in A appt you need to take the extra precaution's. Venting is A large must, I have A portable in my flowering room to try and keep my temp's down. Soil is alot more forgiving than hydro when it comes to temp issues.

Air cooled hoods work very well. Get an 10 or 12 inch inline and that will exhaust all your heat for sure. It sounds like overkill, but my 6" inline Can fan has issues with expelling the heat from a 400 watt electronic HID.
