What happens if you defoliate the shit out of your plant, as it appears some have, an you run into a problem and lose some naturally?

I don't like to defoliate to much incase my girls run into unforeseen problems and lose leaves because of it.
These plants don't "lose leaves naturally" when conditions are optimal and growth is regular and vigorous.

Whatever you wanna believe man.
I personally think defoliation is important.
I'm not arguing with. I'm just attempting to discuss the topic. Not meant as disrespect it was an honest question and concern.

Really though, what happens to your plant if you remove so much that there's none left after you screw up?

Not you specifically but anyone who may find themselves in the above situation. I'm not saying your way is wrong. What I'm asking for is a plan if someone follows your way and it goes wrong.

You don't remove that many. Leave 6 inch THICK canopy under a screen. Lollipop all bottoms completely.

3 days ago I went through some HEAVY defoliation. This was because I needed to see what the heck I was doing in order to lst well. I took off more than fan leaves, even sprouting nodes what were underneath main colas and looking disadvantaged. I thought I had fucked it... Nah. 3 days later and look at the bounce back. I'm not entirely sure but I think it resulted in my stems getting thicker. Now everything is growing back and even the nodes I cut are sending out fresh shoots that I can be selective about what I let grow. I also topped again and bent what was 2 top colas down to create about 8. I will veg until Christmas. Reason why I'll veg so long this time is because I'm collecting as many clones as I can. I took a huge lateral off with a stem as thick as a Sharpie which is by far my strongest clone to date.. you wouldn't even know it anymore.

Looks good and I find the same but now imagine you did that and the same day your ph went way off or you got your mix wrong accidentally? I don't think defoliating is wrong or right as I have seen advantages and disadvantages to both.

Yeah mate I get what you're saying. I usually trim a day or 2 after a Res change and I find my system incredibly stable. Personal preference I guess. It did take me over an hour to tidy up I might get a bit more laxed in the future and just leave it to bush. I enjoy making edibles so harvesting leafy material is good for me.
