UPDATED - forgot to say - seeds are from worldwide marijuana seeds - feminised WW - of the 5 I got only 2 popped - the 1 is in flower and the other is the mother in veg. Room size is 3' x 4' x 7' (flower room) - veg room was moved inside to a small closet - 2' x 8' x 7' during the below freezing weather lately. (this room is split in half for veg and clones) Updated pics are of the flowering WW - 3 wks 1 day - looking good so far I think? These are all of the flowering girl!!!

UPDATE - day 25 and all is well

Hey everybody

I have a question I'm hoping someone can clear up. I get it about the trichs, getting about 50-70% amber and then harvest. I have a microscope and will be able to tell when the time comes. But, I've seen a few people mention something about when all the hairs turn red - is this another way to tell? Some pot I've grown has had red hairs the whole time while this WW is white. Will these hairs on the WW turn red when ready to harvest? Looking at Slim's up above it looks like they are maybe 30% now, will they all change?

Thanks in advance for your replies

The hairs turning can happen at all different stages of late flowering. It is a good indication that they are getting near the end, but the trichs always have final say. I have had all the hairs turn red, the a week later, all new white ones poking through, and the plant finishing 3-4 weeks later, if I judged it by pistils, I would have harvested a month early. So, if you can stick with the trichs, but let the pistils give you a good idea of when to really start looking at them.

I haven't seen many people harvesting at 75% amber. Most will go from 10-30% amber.

Yes those hairs will continue to turn red as he gets closer to harvest, also when it starts to get really ripe the hairs will stop growing and becan to recede back into the buds. also many times the buds themself began to change color as the weed rippens:fire:

Some shots from tonite - I apologize in advance for the quality of the pic's, 1200 w of HPS is not conducive to quality photography. But now we are in the home stretch, 9 weeks flower and to reinterate:
Dutch Masters WW
Two 600W HPS
"Hot" Soil (thanks Uncle Ben)
Mycorrhizal Inoculant
Age old Veg & Bloom nutes
Molasses
Bat Guano
Super thrive
Aquarium water

I chopped the runt last Saturday, it finished earlier than everybody else & she's drying as we speak.
I think two more weeks max, and I especially like the "Twin Towers"

looking good GWN looking good

and what is hot soil?
Hot soil is a mix of all the goodies the plant will need throughout its life - I beleve this one came from Uncle ben.

Ingredients:

8 large Bags of a high-quality organic potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil)
25-50lbs of worm castings
5 lbs steamed bone meal
5lbs Bloom bat guano
5lb Blood Meal
3lbs Rock Phosphate
3/4 cup Epson Salts
1/2cup sweet lime (dolomite)
1/2 cup azomite (trace elements)
2 Tsp powdered humic acid

so just to be sure i read that right.... mix soil like this and you never need to feed the plant just water as needed?
Yes, that is the party line, however I tend to add extra guano, molasses, and age old bloom during flower.
On a lighter note, I took down another girl that was ready today. Not quite as big as the first one but still a nice looking pile of bud after trim. They are on the swingset now.
