The ultimate hybrid

ok, i'm in horticulture, it's my speacial study. I know that you can only create hybrids from plants that are in the same family, sometimes theres speacial occasions but not that much. Ok where i'm getting at is: is it possisble to cross breed, hops with marijuana, both are from the family Cannabaceae along with hackberries and some other stuff not important in this dicussion. Ok so, if marijuana is in the same family as hops, the plant that beer comes from, is it possissble to create a beverage that would get you both drunk and high, or a smoke that would get you both drunk and high. Well i don't know, i have no idea so i'm throwing it out there for you all to think about. hell maybe some of you can even try it.

to answer your question... no

you will not get drunk from smoking anything, ever, due to the fact that you have to use alcohol itself to get drunk. Hops do not contain alcohol by themselves, only after fermenting do you get alcohol out of hops

Marijuana however can be made into a hybrid as seen in Mexico recently.

It seems this hybrid can survive many forms of herbicide and can be planted anytime, matures in about 2 months and can be harvested continuously... yeah I want one...

There was also a rumor about an Irish chemist that crossed marijuana plant
with a 4 leaf clover... interesting if true.

In any case, I am interested in hybrids but in my opinion the focus should be on trying to find a way to make pot plants live longer, produce more or maybe even make them so they look nothing like marijuana... would be really cool if one could cross pot with kudzu safely.

Hops are only a flavouring for beer, originally there were no hops used in beer.
It's true that hops and mary are related, but people have tried and failed to cross them.
