Conspiracy Theory. You're talking about the gold fringe. Which is ultimately largely irrelevant.
If it's in common civil use then it can no longer be a military flag. While it may have started out as just that, the way it has been used takes away any continuation of it being that.

Like a typical deranged progressive/commie, you've called for the presentation of our returning, deceased military personnel on TV, in flag draped coffins. So, in order to show the typical hypocrisy of your ilk, I called for the addition of pictures of aborted babies as a news follow up. Surely, you can see the humor in this, no?
