The Real Obama

This horserace ain't over for almost four months.

With the advantages he enjoys: plenty of money and being the media darling; Obama should be killing McCain in the polls. Yet they run neck and neck right now.

Obama is ACTING like the President now, and he's only the presumptive nominee. He's got until November to fuck it up.

Yeah but america is fed up with Bush and McCain just exudes Bush he is a sell out so Obama will have to fuck up pretty bad to screw this one up.

McCain ran an impressive campaign against 'W' back in 2000. There were enough people back then who thought he was different. What has changed? The media no longer embrace him as the 'Maverick.'

Obama will fuck it up magnificently. As I said before, he should be murdering McCain in the polls right now, but it is very close.

Look at the way he stumbled across the finish line against that hag. America has over three months to see Obama for what he is. Best case scenario: He's a babe in the woods, naively promising everybody in his constituency everything they demand under the aegis of 'change.'

He will be eaten alive. It could happen before the election, or after he's elected, if he's elected.

I'm finding myself disagreeing with more and more that Obama does at it gets closer to elections and I'm starting to feel like he is not the right man to lead our country. He is just another smooth talking politician. But this troubles me because I don't find myself agreeing with anything that McCain says. So who the fuck do I vote for?

Same as always bro you either vote for the shit sandwich or the crap taco hell we get a great choice here in the good old US of A huh??

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal and NBC released poll data.

People like difference in Obama, yet are afraid of him.
People, at a rate of 2 to 1 prefer Mc Cains' understanding of current world conditions.
The polls are with 2 points of a statistical dead heat. This is too close to call. It will probably be decided if either candidate has a melt down moment of some kind.
The right VP choice will put this race over the top for either candidate. Obama has to choose first.

The honeymoon may be over between Obama and the adoring media.

Last year, when Hillary Clinton campaigned as a front-runner, Obama provided access to the press corps and won over the media. One night, during a campaign stop in Iowa, he met reporters for off-the-record drinks. He cooperated for magazine profiles and appeared on the cover of GQ. And Clinton's relationship with the press wasn't half as easy. "The difference is the Clinton people were hostile for no reason," a reporter who has covered both Democrats tells me.

But, as Obama ascended from underdog to front-runner to presumptive nominee, the flame seems to have dwindled. Reporters who cover Obama these days grouse that Obama's flacks shroud the campaign in secrecy and provide little to no access. "They're more disciplined than the Bush people," a reporter on the Obama trail gripes. "There was this idea of being transparent, but they're not. They're total tightwads with information."
Meanwhile, there have been widespread complaints over the shortage of spots to accompany Obama on his tour of the Middle East and Europe. A few days before the tour departed, Time magazine was told it couldn't send a photographer along, and, on July 22, NBC foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell complained on-air that the only images the press had received of Obama meeting with the troops was released by the U.S. military. (To be fair, congressional delegations to Iraq are kept secret for security purposes). And there's been widespread grumbling that the campaign revoked New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza's spot on the trip as retribution for the magazine's recent satirical cover. These may or may not be legitimate complaints--the evidence is mixed--but the press is hardly inclined to give the campaign the benefit of the doubt.
End of the Affair

I "hope" not. He reminds me so of JFK. What is the human dilemma without hope? I'll take luck and hope anyday, as in I hope I have some luck,~LOL~.
Nobody could possibly live up to the hype shrouded in hope that his campaign is promulgating.

Let's say you get your wish: Obama wins and his coattails are long enough to guarantee a majority in both Houses of Congress. Not much will actually 'change' for the better.

The rich will export their money offshore, like the Kennedys and Heinz-Kerrys do already. This will make their wealth untouchable, thus useless to the Obamanation. The 'Great sucking sound' as Ross Perot phrased it in 1993-94 will be MASSIVE American capital going offshore to benefit less tax onerous countries before new laws are enacted.

The economy will sputter, possibly collapse entirely. What will our hero do then? Blame Dubya, of course.

All the spending Obama proposes will be borne largely by the average achieving American. The rich have an escape plan already, just in case. Currently, the top half pays the freight for Federal Income Tax (97%) for the bottom half of Americans (3%). How much more will we bear? Entitlement societies can function as long as you don't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Look at Zimbabwe to see what happens after the government demonizes a certain segment of society; seize their wealth and destroy their means of production. All in the name of fairness, the government wrecked the economy and the country cannot feed itself.

The world will still love him because they prefer us weaker, not stronger. Lefties will still love him because he can do no wrong.

The average American won't stand for it. Ocarter will get a free hand for two years. The mid-terms elections will be a massacre and he'll find himself a lame duck until he's voted out of office in disgrace.

^^^ Damn, Johnny ... that was a GREAT post! ^^^

:hump:

From your post: "How much more will we bear? Entitlement societies can function as long as you don't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs."

This is where the threat to liberty and safety raises its ugly head in collectivist societies. As the citizens are taxed ever more heavily to support an unsustainable weight placed upon society's shoulders, the citizens, or at this point, subjects, begin to revolt. As the revolt starts, whether its through an underground economy, or with arms, the velvet glove comes off of the smiley face of socialism, to reveal the iron fist and the fangs of government. At that point, all is revealed and the true nature of those who have led society down this Road to Serfdom become crystal clear. The nature of Thugs. From then on, there are only three choices. One is to fight. The second is the gulag. And of course, the third is to simply comply.

Come on Johnny, do you actually believe this crap? The rich always have an escape plan, no matter who the POTUS is, in fact they've already been escaping in droves, taking their factories with them. Your Hero, Bush, has given them tax incentives to leave. Obama has said he'd give them tax incentives to stay. I don't care if all the rich assholes leave. They won't find many other countries up to their standards anyway, good riddance I say. It's not the rich that fund SS, but the workers. When the SS money runs out, I'll take up Bank robbery or some other lucrative endeavor. Maybe robbing those rich guys that are still here.

My point is you ain't seen nuthin' yet. Once Ocarter announces his Official blueprint for change as President, those with the means will skedaddle and take their money with them. I'm talking about that 1% of taxpayers who pays 40% of all federal income taxes. That revenue Ocarter is counting on will have to come from somewhere. And just who do you think that will be?

The average achieving American will find himself 'rich.' The very person who fears Ocarter now will find himself targeted and punished for his achievement. $250,000 may sound like a lot of money for a married couple, but we're not far away from when that will be the average married income, thanks to the inflation storm and possible currency devaluation our hero's economic policies will produce.

When taxes go up, government revenues go down. Taxes decrease, the economy improves. Economics reflect reality. It's historical. Even the Democrat John F. Kennedy understood that.

There is a correlation between the Bush and Clinton tax hikes and a change in the revenue received by the Treasury. Martin Feldstien, professor of economics at Harvard, estimates that the U.S. Treasury would have collected two-thirds more revenue during the first three years of the Clinton presidency had his administration NOT raised taxes.

~lol~ ... cc, you have such a way with words.

Johnny ...

Your posts are excellent. Very enjoyable to read.

Have you ever wondered why, no matter how much logic you present to the progressives, they still don't get it ... or at least won't accept it?

Is liberalism a mental illness? :?

To those who complain about the expense of U.S. foreign policy, yet stress Barry Obama's plan to focus on domestic issues.

Please take note of his own bill, S.2433. The Global Poverty Act. See for yourself. http://thomas.loc.gov/
The Global Poverty Act will provide the United Nations with 0.7% of the United States gross national product. Estimates are that it will add up to at least $845 billion of taxpayer money for welfare to third world countries, in addition to the $300 billion Americans spent for the same thing in 2006.
ESR | July 21, 2008 | Barack Obama and the UN's drive for global governance

0.7% of our GNP! So much for the focus on domestic social programs.

As his track record in the Senate is paper thin, this piece of garbage stands out.

He's just getting started. He wants to be President of the World and he wants us to pay for it.

Former telemarketer here...blech.
You've got him pegged, shontay.

After spending a lifetime in commissioned sales, I have the same insight into people as you do. Hey, banging your head against the wall and eating rejection for a living is a real learning experience. ~lol~

Good call on your part.
