The WASP hoards it. Like they’re doing now but instead of allowing us money to buy their goods, they’re bypassing with billion dollar tax cuts cutting out the rest of America. That’s not even enough, once a year they redo your pay plan (exempt EE) and it’s less and less every year while cutting benefits..at this job for two years, I’ve been cut significantly every year.

There’s no such thing as 20 and out anymore unless you’re government.

Actually they need everyone to work and spend. It's what keeps the wealthy happy. I screw them. I buy very little. I eat out a few times a month. I retired and decided my time is worth much more than junk.

Where do you get this stuff?

It was never 20 and out for workers. Not even for the majority of white collar workers. Military, yes, 20 years qualifies for a pension. It's good but not enough to retire and live well upon. I knew somebody who lived in a trailer on a military pension in White Bird Idaho. It's a nice place to live if you don't have much money. Suited him but it wasn't a middle class lifestyle.

When was that? Times were good for a majority of white men in the US between 1950 and 1970 but that was it. Those good days were built upon the backs of women and minorities in this country as well as the people of the 3rd world, most of whom were Asian, Latino and African people.

I would also add that it was based largely on a singular period of American economic growth and hegemony that resulted from our relative position post WWII where we faced global partners that were devastated by war while our economy was undamaged and faced exceptional growth.

The norm throughout most of modern history is workers that were at the mercy of employers and toiled for 80+ hours per week without having much of a chance to change jobs and would eventually "retire" after they could no longer work without much of anything.
