The politics of Christmas presents.

This year I gave my 5 year old kid some of my old toys, notably a toy fort and a few dozen cowboys and indians as well as a pretty large number of Civil War soldiers from both sides (fine people).

This brought up some pretty serious discussions about the exact (or inexact) nature of good guys and bad guys. It was the beginning of an important discourse that will last the rest of our time together on Earth.


On a side note, while at the inlaws farm yesterday it seemed clear that guns are a hot Christmas gift. One neighbor had a new shotgun and two others nearby were clearly breaking in new assault rifles. Just the way Jesus would have wanted it.

Oh brave new world that has such people in it.

Hopefully the food was good. Sounds like a stressful Christmas. Hearing gunshots like that I would have high tailed it out of there.

No, it was not. My mother in law does not like to cook and my father in law has a palate that would be happy in an US Army mess. The gunfire did not faze me - this is Trump country, I have grown used to it. But it was unusual in its volume.

Its when you take off the wood stock from a semi auto hunting rifle and replace with an adjustable black butt stock and a scary black quad rail. Maybe mount a assault flashlight on it too.

Can I answer that? An assault rifle is designed purely to kill people and is not meant for hunting or target shooting. Their accuracy is compromised due to the design and compactness. Their sole purpose is rapid fire close range accuracy. Same as a semi auto handgun. They are designed for urban warfare. The action is designed for simplicity and not long range consistency. The magazine is larger and designed for quick reload. I may of forgot a couple of things but that pretty much covers it I think.

You're right, in jesus's days a bullet to the head wouldn't have been enough pain and suffering. In those days they preferred to stone people or nail their hands and feet to a wooden board and let you die slowly in pain for a couple days or so while baking in the sun.

In the liberal world a definition is just a made up and depends on your feelings not fact. You should read the liberal dictionary, it has blank spaces that you can add your feelings to as you see fit.

My assault pistols and rifles had their selector switches removed and now choose to identify as "self defense" pistols and rifles. Please don't judge them.

Hopefully you never have to go back there ever again after that horrible experience. Surely your wife must agree that the once nice charming country farmhouse life has turned into an unsafe environment for your child , Being surrounded by gun crazed moronic assault rifle trumptards. If Oswald had an AR-15 instead of a $12.45 Mannlicher Carcano 6.5mm Italian army surplus bolt action rifle, he would have killed everyone in the car and could have moved on to the other cars.Then he could have killed a whole bunch of cops instead of just one

Wrong. I've transpo'd enough GSW patients to say that is absolutely false. And, before anyone shouts any liberal feminist nonsense my way, know I carry and I've hunted since I was old enough to walk...albeit not always on state land/white mans land.
There are "gun nuts" who shouldn't own a firearm and instead should opt for a penis enlargement and there are responsible gun owners who know the only way to move forward is to implement common sense gun reform.

Self defence? Speaking of feelings lol. An automatic weapon does not define assault. Did I say automatic anywhere in my definition? So you really didn’t offer any rebuttal except “I bought mine to kill people in self defence”, try again. Just a helpful hint, I own a few guns but not stupid enough not to know what assault weapons are designed for.

In 2018 there were 37 kids killed in school shootings. It doesn't specify what kind of weapon. And I am sure they weren't all from what you would call "assault rifles" So I'm sure there is a lesser value than 37 kids killed with an assault rifle but we can use that number.

The government reports an average of 49 people die from lighting strikes each year. I couldn't find the number of actual lightning strikes each year but wikipedia says that 10-30% of the strikes are fatal. So if 49 people died, at 10-30% of the people being struck.. You can do the math. A kid is more likely to be struck by lightening than die in a school shooting.

Kids being killed at school is terrible and unfortunate. I am sure we can all agree this number should be zero. I am not making light of the issue, but blaming "assault rifles" is fucking stupid being there are 5 to 10 million of AR15 style rifles in the USA not counting AK47 type, and many others like the mini 30 and min15's and so forth.

So all the numbers are very small fractions of a percent.

Actually a semi auto is not as accurate as a bolt. A bolt is a true sniper weapon. The 338 lapua and 308 bolt have been staples in military sniper weapons as well as the 50
So had he had the gun you speak of at that range he probably would have hit everything around the car and not actually anyone in it

It doesn't have to be as accurate with 15 shot clips.

Your grandma could shoot an AR-15 into an open convertible from a 6th floor window. Would your ass sit in an open car with somebody shooting at you because you don't think it's accurate enough? You'd be a bloody dead mess.
