chronic usually has a fat ass main cola, so I think SK is pic #1 and chronic is pic 2&3

Hmm interested how much you get from that... I know Serious Seeds says specifically not to top this plant, any reason you chose to?
"Improved in 2000. This is one of the larger yielding varieties, this medium height, not too dense plant is the perfect combination of good yield and excellent quality. Smokers that know and grow choose this plant for its combination of appearance and sweet smell. Grows a single huge central bud with few side branches. This strain does not respond well to topping. Mild, sweet smell develops while flowering, take care to dry thoroughly after harvest to maintain this subtle fragrance."

I was well aware of the breeders recommendations but I was topping the rest of my grow and read a thread were a grower had amazing results with a topped Chronic.
I was hoping it would turn out like the plant below from uncle ben but it needs to put on some serious more weight to even come close - wish i didnt now and mine looked like sniffer's chronic

I honestly think the chronic just can't support that much weight on several colas.
Mine's in a 5 Gal. bag, and it's fucking huge!! If I topped that thing, it wouldn't be able to hold it's weight (and it doesn't even have huge budsites yet). 29" from the base and the side shoots are about 14"-22" each, so it's got a shit ton of weight already.
Certain strains can handle things differently i suppose, cause my warlock is thriving off the top! shit smells like the most beautiful sweet skunk!

im gunna top mine next time around just to see how it grows
but only if this strain turns out nice , if not i wont be growing it again
i think im gunna like the sensi star and sour kush the best , , few more weeks and will know for sure

I really hope I get to a stage were im worried about my colas holding up the buds cause that will mean Ill have some serious buds come harvest. I could always support the plant if those buds swell like i hope they do.

The only reason they said not to top the Chronic is because it is fairly slow in veg. It will grow just fine topped, it will just take a little longer to get to a size that is ready to flower.

My rocklock was male. Not hermie, it was only male. It was the only seed out of 20 plants in my grow space that was male (or hermie), no plants were stressed in any way. I think they gave me a regular seed, not feminized because I was baffled. I got rid of it asap. All other plants are doing just fine.

those are looking great man i cant wait to start my chronic, i got back from the ER a few days ago and found my sour kush burnt pretty badly from the lamp so i had to change out my whole room and its doing better now, slowed it down tho
