History of the Strain
Its bag seed from a batch of mids purchased in Washington D.C the week of Halloween '08. It's virtually impossible for anyone to identify a strain, so I named it myself dammit! It was a real good high for some mids and I wanted to grow it as my first bag seed. It was compressed, seedy, but not brown like most Mexi-Brix. The high is pretty good. More cerebral than body. Kinda frosty with nice hazel hairs Smells good too.

Environment
Cab in a closet. Average Humidity is about 40% and temps averaging 80ish but no higher than 86. Cabinet walls painted Flat white with exterior paint. Currently vegging with two 23w Daylight CFL's on 18/6. It was four but I added two small pots of Blueberry in Ocean Forest under two of the bulbs a day ago. I know... I probably wanna get more lights!

It germed in a small Rubbermaid container of cotton pads on top of the cable box. Transplanted into a 16oz cup of Miracle Grow Organic Choice Potting Soil. Since I had more soil left, I transplanted it 2 weeks later into a 3 gallon pot mix of more Organic Choice and Miracle Grow Perlite.
:wall: It was convenient at the time!

@ 2 weeks (PIX taken on 12/1)

and two weeks and two days later ....

I have been watering it with Deer Park only, no nutes. Just picked up a case of Distilled Water from Walmart to start watering it with though. I have a Walmart microscope I use to look for signs of sex, but still no signs.

I was thinking about trying some LST with this one just until my Blueberry caught up a little. Thought about cloning it once it showed signs but I dont think I am ready to be a surgeon yet, just a physical therapist. lol Plus, I have seen some pretty good yields from simply bending the main stem. Think imma do the nails in the bucket lid. Reminds me of turning a plant into a puppet.

Question(s):

Is it normal for leaves to grow natural tears/rips?

Around what week does pre-flowers usually show?

Does it look 100% indica or just indica dominant?

Just a small donation of 1 answer to 1 question is greatly appreciated

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Im like almost doing the same thing as you as with the same unknown strain to, with similarity as you stated. I started with the MG too, but im fixin to swith to plain soil, with 60% Perlite ( seen folks with AWESOME results ), then put in small pot with a bottom drainage.

When I transplant, Im gonna use some B1, I have searched and I have found it helps the roots establish more when transplanted.

Then go from there. Good Luck!

Yours looks good though!

Thanx! I'm patiently waiting for the sex to start showing.

I think I have Aphids in my pot. When I turn the fan on they start flying out of the soil. I read that this was one of the issues people had with Miracle Grow soil. What should I do? What is the best solution to exterminate this little fuckers? And will have this issue with Ocean Forest?

Thanx in advance!!!!!!!

After taking a closer look, they might be Gnats. They hide with the fan on cause the fan is like not to far from over the canopy of the plant, but when I cut the fan off, they start to come out the soil and fly. Its not a lot but its enough. There is browning on my leaves and stuff. Could they be munching on my shit?

No way, man. I grew up in DC. You growing that Berry Farms shit? I smoked on that for years, bro LOL. If that is indeed what you have and it is grown correctly you could definitely get some high quality buds. I mean from what I remember the buds were nice and green with very few seeds and none of that pencil shaving shwag taste at all, actually pretty skunky. So yea I'll be interested to follow and see what you get.

As far as your bugs it is pretty important to determine what exactly you have. I grow in coco and have fungus gnats that have happily coexisted with the plants for almost a year now with no harm done. They never leave the growroom and if I keep the pots on the drier side then there's only a few here and there. Anyway, there's other bugs that will phuck up your plants big time so I would look into it. Neem oil and hotshot no-pest strips are some effective ways to control insects.

Oh yea, I thought you picked it up from a dude on the street, cause it that case it would have had to come from Berry Farms LOL. That's a housing project is SE where you can just roll through in your car and there's plenty of dudes on the corner to serve you 24/7. But I don't know, any midgrade in DC is probably the same shit. It's not that big of a city. But yea I was surprised the first time I went to the Farms because I was expecting some dirt weed from such a ghetto place but it was some fire.

What should I do? I haven't fed it anything but water. Where does the rips come from? Is it normal?

Oh yea OK I see what you meant. You're braver than me LOL. No way I'm gettin outta my car down there. Phuck that! I would stick out like a sore thumb for sure.

But yea about your discoloration and leaf tears I would look at ph. Improper ph will cause all sorts of weird growth, including disfigured leaves, as well as nute deficiencies which lead to discoloration.

So do you guys think that my switch from the Deer Park to the Distilled water will take care of the spots?

Well I just water'd Mike Myers and it seems to be doing okay. Hopefully this week the spots will either clear up or stop multiplying

Took a few pics just to update the journal.

And here's a closer look through my Walmart microscope.

Thanx again for your time! and with all the views, I would think people would stop by just to say hi!

Best way to fix ph is to get a tester. They're like $20. You want your ph at 6.5 for soil. And from the droopiness of the leaves it looks like you may be overwatering a bit. When I water I flood the pot and the soil gets fully saturated and heavy. Then I lift up the pot every day and when it feels empty it is time to water again. Young plants with small root structures can sometimes go 5-6 days before needing water again. So if you are watering every day or even every other day at this point it would be too much.

You know whats funny... I bought this punk ass 3-Way tester from the garden shop around the way and that shit only worked when I tested the lights. It supposed to test moisture, lights, and pH.

same brand as this one but the sum'bitch is round instead of square
