I have left the small ones on the mains and it seemed to be OK. You will get the usual smaller buds on those and the main colas will be fine.

Alright gents thinking of doing a mainline grow for my 1st grow in a new room it's a 90x90x200 with the 960w mars hydro how many plants do you think I could run I'd be using a wilma drip feed in soil

I won't be mainlining anymore, yield was smaller , it's cute and shows you can grow , but scrog and or lst has yielded me much higher harvest weight

I found that MLing was useful when I needed to prolong the Veg cycle for some reason.

....and I just have to love the look of the result. :0)

I have 4 heavyweight goldmine plants I just switched to flower. I mainlined one of them so I’m curious to see how it turns out. All the others I topped twice as I usually do.

That would be nice but could I do 4x8 cola beasts in there I can move them about for ease of trimming

Sure, that would work. All depends on how big you train them to be. I move mine around the best I can in my 2.5sq ft grow box.

Well I was thinking g13 haze in 4 25l soil pots n train them to a tomato cage as said in beginning of the thread this will be my 1st time doing and chopping while they grow this seems a easy one to do and maintain as it's all done pretty early it's just tying down and a hair cut as the grow lol

put as many that fit under the light area. asking how many plants is nuts. Are they trained topped or totum pole plants. pics of your veg plants would help. Nobody can answer that

Go back to the first few pages of this post. Nugs explains the setup in detail including how many plants he packs in his space.

I found the mainlining tutorial on another site, I tried the mainline with just 8 cola and it worked great - so I found my way here.

Next grow I tried leaving one extra node about midway up each branch on the top - one facing the right direction already, but about 3 or 4 nodes down from the main cola. Each of these produced a decent top and 2-4 dense nugs.

I did this on all but 2 (snipped for clones) just to see the difference. Once it was dried and stems removed, the 2 without an extra node weighed about the same as both the cola and the extra node on a different limb. So basically, it didn't matter, each limb produced about the same regardless. Then I got on here and on the first page or two it said an 8 cola plant and a 32 cola plant produced generally the same weight - when you consider the extra week(s) that went into the extra toppings and recoveries.

I though about that, and realized that in the interest of flipping quicker I wanted to try something a little different. On this grow I got my 8 main stems stretched out, but then just snipped shoots on the bottoms, topped a few, and am just using each limb as an experiment. It is already a week into flip. But slow veged under a 135 for 60 days while I was waiting on a harvest.

Here's what I have going on. Superskunk from ILGM. and its the "Superskunk Manifold" grow journal on here. https://www.rollitup.org/t/superskunk-manifold.982650/

A couple of tricks I devised might help. First, if it hasn't come up yet, when you do the main 'snip' starting out, laying a small pinch of flattened out grafting wax over the nub will help keep it from splitting, drying out, rotting, etc.

And the best thing I thought of yet (stoners have the best ideas, when they can remember them ;) ) is to put eyelets or grommets in the edge of the pot. I also use the "expensive" rubber coated wire just to make hooks to protect the plant, but since it's harder to make adjustments on it I use the el-cheapo 'roll-o-twisties' for the actual work.

Check out my idea. A mainline to get it started and "distribute the nutes" evenly, but then fill it in. Like a scrog without a net.

    IMG_6560.JPG IMG_6563.JPG

I was also thinking about letting just 8 cola run in veg until they are tall enough to scrog, then super-cropping each limb out like spokes on a wheel and tying it down to the net.
