The Main-Lining Thread

I just returned home and check the temp and RH, house 70 degrees and 61% RH, Cabinet 72 degrees and 62% RH and that is with the light on. I am looking into larger fan and filter.

Sad news but I am posting pictures for verification, don't really need it because I already know what it is.

When I got home was making a quick view of the tribe and have found that Q1 is a little bastard. More bad news is that three of the four clones are from Q1.

Looking at Q2 I think I see some tiny hairs forming.

Q2 Oh yeah 11-1-13.jpg (53.41 KiB) Viewed 8 times

Now I have to figure out which clone is the young lady and get rid of the other three. I guess my plans to go out of town tomorrow are on hold. Not so fast there GRman, thinking I just found the Q2 clone, thinking I see small hair forming, check again later and try and get a pic or two. I have Q1 and his offspring outside and Q2 and her daughter in the box. Will watch both close for any changes.

Sorry to see the males mate, as for humidity I'm in the same boat this week, I'm averaging 55 % humidity the past 2-3 days, some spikes into high 60's, just ordered a de-humidifier that will fit my space, as every one i have is way to big for this tent... also another fan to circulate that air, fans always help

FJG,

Well that leaves me with the one mainline and her clone, who is not mainlined.
I am hoping with cooler/dryer weather coming on I can avoid having to purchase a dehumidifier and larger filter/fan combo. I have way to much tied up into this at this point. Want to see how it go's before I purchase anything else.

I will be starting some seeds, "White Widow and Ice, toward the end of this month, I would like to have them ready to go into flower as soon as these ladies come out of the cabinet. The non-mainlined plant I plan on bending and tying to control height and get light to as much of the plant as possible. At least now I have room in my cabinet to do plant control and shaping.

Peace out,

Im sure the fan/filter is a fine size...I don't remember the specs, but drawing the picture from memory if it serves right, Your filter and fan were fine, It's just jamming plants into a confined space has a lot of moisture bundled into a "small" space... I'm sure a decent humidifier would be fine, and much cheaper then jumping up your inline and filter.

Ya, after seeing how it reacted your right. ill be doign that differently next tiem. so, after you top the first time, how long do you wait? or jsut wait til those two are long enuf?
I think 7"-12" or even more depending on a few things, like soon to be big outdoor plants could go longer before being topped.

Menards. Like 5 bucks. In the outdoor garden section. They had a little taller and wider one too for like 7 bucks.
Thanks for the time.

(Menards is a big number, but not in my area....I can find an
equivalent to check though)

LK, the issues that you raise have been discussed here....there is no
clear answer, but the agreed-upon result was one that it seemed I should
have just thought of for myself: that one just pinches/etc the hardier
of the two non-parallel tops to retard it so that the two grow equally.

This is not a perfect answer....and I am left preferring a seed start for
a main-lined plant.

I am still working on training skills, so my answer is not optimal.

Good luck,

JD

Day 7 of flower

See some but not that many pistols, just enough to know they are ladies.

Not drinking that much but doing some stretch, about 4 to 5 inches last week. I would have expected more stretch, maybe this week. Did fix a couple of minor light leaks this morning and took some pictures.

Temps and humidity holding steady,

71 to 75 degrees
56 to 61 RH

I will be watering tomorrow or Wed. morning. May have to begin watering them separate as Q2 is drinking more than her daughter.

Pineapple skunk

Critical+

OG KUSH

Canopy

Canopy again showing bud sites.

Current stats are
23.8C hi
18.1C lo
RH 48% hi
RH 36% lo

After the second feed at EC1.8 the runoff tested 2.0 so I backed this feed off to 1.6 and runoff was 1.6. Next feed I will judge whether to go back up to 1.8.

I know that I'm quite late in the game on this thread, but a huge thank you to Nugs for all of the information, ceaseless and positive help and ultimately - this amazing technique which has changed the way that I (and a shitload of others by the look of this thread!) approach growing and cultivating this majestic plant. Much love and respect to you all !!!

^^^ BTW I have currently got 1xPinapple Chunk and 1xAmnesia (both feminised) going on my first ML attempt - they are currently on 4 mains and soon to be topped in a few more days to take them up to 8 and then 16. I'll be sure to post pics and keep you all updated - I've been pouring over this thread and really looking forward to seeing the end result of this amazing technique. Cheers gang!

^^^ Sorry 'bout the lack of info... too bloody eager to get involved haha! I've got both in 20L pots with a soil/perlite/blood n bone/peat moss mix. They were originally intended for an outdoor grow as I live in a fairly secluded spot here in the Aussie outback, however freak frosts nearly cost me the Amnesia and I had to move 'em indoors under 2x CFLs (6400k) and 2x fluros (2700k and 5900k respectively). I also had a spider-mite problem which I cleared up with a first spray of 50/50 metho/water, then a second go with a neem oil/water mix, then a third whack with both 5 days ago - since then, all good!!! I just took photos today after the second lot of topping both plants. Got 4 mains starting to make themselves known. A few more days and I'll be onto the next lot of topping - got the tomato rings at the ready! No tent as I have a nice area in an available home which is light-tight yet well aerated... if not for the redic price of power here in Australia ATM it would be an ideal setup! Once it is nearly time to flower, I will move into the flowering room on 400w MH/HPS lights and just play the waiting game ;D

Got my temps up to 78 with lights on and 72 off.
RH is still at 60 lights on, and 63 lights off.
Ordered new fan and filter, dehumidifier has to wait, $ problems.
I rotate the plants at least daily, most of the time multi times during the day.

Question?

I have been using 600 to 700 ppm nutes. I was reading last night and read that I should be at 1300 t0 1500 ppm during flower. What is the correct number to shoot for?
Today I watered and nuted with 975ppm, just want to get it right.
