"The larger the gun, the more menacing the situation,"

hanimmal I do not know, but when I was young I was allowed to shoot when I could pick the gun up, aim at the target, and pull the trigger unassisted. That's my dad clapping. You know I never had a toy gun when I was young, kinda strange now that I think about it. Funny thing is I have no desire to even own a gun now, I just think that noone should take my right own one.

shnkrmn Is a nuclear weapon more threatening or terroristic than a knife?

No, however it is more threatening when armed and fired than a knife in someones hand swinging around.

shnkrmn NoDrama used the term brandish, I was repeating it. There is a difference between packing heat and 'brandishing' a weapon.

You are absolutely correct and I sincerely apologize.

shnkrmn I don't recall firearms being used in warfare throughout history. The battle of kurukshetra may have turned out differently.

Think of it as a progressive statement. Weapons will continue to be improved upon. Like first came hitting and kicking, then someone picket up a rock, and so someone picked up a bigger rock, and the cycle began more or less.

shnkrmn Anyway, a legitimate battlefield weapon (whatever that means, what is not legitimate?) does not belong at a political rally.
Ever.

definition of a weapon : A weapon is a tool used to apply or threaten to apply force for the purpose of hunting, attack or defense in combat.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weapon
As per the definition just about anything could be a legitimate weapon.
And now you tell me weapons have no place at a political rally, ugh do you mean on the citizen side or did you mean everyone?
Last time I went to the armory a .45 semi auto pistol was standard military issue, and i'm pretty sure the secret service and local law enforcement has at least one at the political rallies. So what do you mean by this? Everyone or just civilians?

So what you think they should do if 1 million armed to the teeth citizens show up in DC to petition the government for a redress of grievances?

I figure they should have the citizens form a line, and start redressing their grievances.

I see you changed you signature line. Looks good.

Line them up, give them wait numbers, and give them due process. . .I won't be there in any case.

Honestly? I'd be hoping that they'd be shitting their pants in fear.

I'd also be hoping that amongst those grievances would be demands that the IRS be abolished, the DoE (both Education and Energy) be abolished, the Income Tax, Pay Roll Tax, and Estate Tax be abolished, along with the whole schlew of other taxes related to those, Repeal of the 16th Amendment, Abolishment of the Fed, and the dissolution of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Sallie Mae, and the other government loan corporations, Repeal of any "hate" crime laws that attempt to define crime differently from actions taken against people.

Though, might as well go for the whole thing, abolishment of the FDA, DEA, FBI, CIA, DIA, and NSA. Expansion of the house to 10,034 members (1 per 30,000 citizens) and term limits on representatives and senators. Abolishment of Social Security (with a plan to ensure that those that have paid into it receive the benefits promised to them, perhaps by actually floating a bond issue to cover the estimated cost.)

Return of Federal Parks to the States, a commitment to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan and the other 150+ nations we have troops in and to demobilize those soldiers upon their return, or station them on the border with Mexico. Abolishment of the SEC, and any other agencies along those lines.

I think that's fairly close to everything...

Oh, yes, and a balanced budget amendment.

Oh hell, I'll try to shorten it up.

Restoral of State Sovereignty and a return to the limits imposed upon the Federal Government by the Constitution as a Constitutionalist (not a Statist clown.)

Nice vid FDD, I actually have 2 of those rifles in the vid. AK-47 I got off an Iraqi in Desert Storm and had shipped back to the states in a military airlift crate, and an Colt AR-15(m-16) I purchased some years ago. The AK is full auto, but the 15 is only semi auto. The AK is great for putting down some lead, but its accuracy leaves a bit to be desired. The AR-15 on the other hand can pick off person sized targets all day at 800 meters with the regular iron sights, due to its ingenious gas and recoil spring system the AR barely moves when you shoot it, making it easy to put well placed rounds on target in a quick manner. I use the AR for deer hunting but the AK rarely ever comes out to play.

This is going to go nowhere good.

And I asked this before and was ignored, but I would like to ask again.

Can anyone tell me what rights they have had taken away? Because in my life I have not noticed one right that I don't have that I did at anytime during my life.
Dude, you haven't been paying attention, the 4th amendment, (Gone), the first amendment, (Teetering on the brink of destruction) the Patriot act, internal spying on citizens, need I go on? I thought all you libertarian freaks were all about freedom? I guess when a republican takes a little bite out of your freedoms it's ok then, lol, hypocrite much?

Of course on the flip side it shows that responsible ppl can walk around with guns and not have anything horrific happen. Like I said, responsible ppl. Gun country is polite country.
