The King Grows

So I am considering today to be the first day of veg now that my 5pt leaves are visible on all eight of the plants. Until today I consider the plants to be in the seedling stage.
My next watering I will be adding 1/2 strength base nutrients for the first time combined with full strength root and micro nutrient additives that I have already been adding.
I will shoot for a VPD of 1kPa for this stage with a maximum temp of 85⁰f. CO² will stay around the 850ppm range until flower where I will increase and maintain CO² at 1500ppm.
I am really hoping to see the plants take off now. But this is still a new room and I will need to learn and adjust on the fly. However the Trolmaster system makes it pretty user friendly. So unless something catastrophic happens I am sure everything should work out.

All of the plants are very uniform and pretty much identical so this is why I am only posting one pic of each strain.

Not much to update today. Plants seem happy. Really green and growing strong. Definitely not showing any signs of stress or really anything to be concerned about.

Today the pots were getting pretty light ant I figured it was time to introduce the girls to the Green Planet Dual Fuel parts 1 & 2 in addition to the Roots and Vitathrive additives that I have been feeding all along. I am starting them off with 1.25ml/L of everything to keep things simple. Adding these ferts and additives to my RO water brought the ppm from 10ppm up to 465ppm. To my surprise and delight the ph was 5.6 so no ph adjustments were needed :D.

I am hoping to see immediate results within the next 48hrs. I am already seeing substantial growth increases daily, more water and ferts should encourage even more vigorous growth.....hopefully. I always get nervous when feeding ferts for the first time in a grow especially ferts I have no experience with.

Here are a couple pics.

I am quickly becoming a fan of these Spider farmer SF 4000's the node spacing is tight. I just hope they are equally as impressive in the flower stage.

So as I was bored at work today, I thought I would do some internet window shopping and ended up at the Ripper Seeds website and noticed they finally had Zombie Kush seeds again. :D

I have grown this strain a couple times in the past and absolutely love it. But I haven't been able to get anymore seeds for over a year now. I am so glad to see them back in stock again.

I also ordered a pack of kmintz, been wanting to try this one but it was sold out in the past so I grabbed a pack today while I had the opportunity.

So today was water day again. Decided not to give them any food. But instead gave them a full strength dose of Potassium Silicate. Figured I had better start glueing all them cells and new growth together.

What made you decide against fertilizer this watering?
It's just a personal preference to add Potassium Silicate on its own. Requires big ph adjustments and I feel it just lowers the chances of screwing something up and locking up the plants. Also I am away at work for another 10 days or so and I don't want to overwhelm my wife who is currently watering the plants. I know it can be added to food but I am just trying to keep it simple for her and keep the girls somewhat safe.

Totally understand!

Day 6 of Veg.

The plants are on day six of veg and I must say that they look fantastic or so I think. I am thinking the plants really like the new room. I should be able to flip them to flower sooner than I expected as they appear to be doubling in size every couple days.

The branches are forming well and they are staying short. I don't want super tall plants as I will be topping and using LST to cover the 4x8 table foot print.

Just guessing about another month and I will flip them. The CO² has definitely stepped up my game.

Day 8 of Veg.

Today the girls got watered. Gave them 2L of RO water each. This will be everything I plan on giving them for the veg stage. The strength will go up but this is it.

.5ml/L of Potassium Silicate (Max Strength)
1.25ml/L of Cal Mag (Max Strength)
1.5ml/L Part 1 Base Nutrient (Will Adjust)
1.5ml/L Part 2 Base Nutrient (Will Adjust)
1.25ml/L Root Builder (Max Strength)
1.25ml/L Vitathrive (Max Strength)

Ph was 5.8 after adding everything so I didn't add any ph down. PPM was 750, figured they are ready for a more aggressive feeding regimen.

Day 10 of Veg.

Nothing really to report other than the plants are absolutely killing it!!! :D

They are branching out nicely and the stalks are getting very woody and strong for such young plants. Pretty sure the potassium silicate has something to do with that.

So far the plants are a beautiful shade of green with zero deficiencies or any other signs of well......anything, they are perfect.

I am really quite proud of how well they are responding to my new room. Makes me feel good that all my planning has worked out.

Ok so I lied, I decided to water again tonight.

Fed them each 2L of RO water containing:
.5ml/L of Potassium Silicate
1.25ml/L of Cal Mag
1.5ml/L Part 1 Base Nutrient
1.5ml/L Part 2 Base Nutrient
1.25ml/L Root Builder
1.25ml/L Vitathrive

The ph was 5.7 , no ph down was required. Starting to really like this Green Planet line. It doesn't say anything about being ph balanced but the last two waterings have been about 5.7 after all the nutrients are added and considering I am adding potassium silicate that is impressing the hell out of me.

Ppm was 630ppm. My last watering I said it was 750ppm but my wife corrected me and said the last watering was 650 not 750. Btw she is watering for me as I am still in camp. Guess I had better get my hearing checked lol.

Next watering I will step up the base nutrient to either 1.75ml/L or 2ml/L. I haven't decided yet.

So I think a light/par/Ppfd meter is in my future. Gonna need one to make sure I can maximize light coverage and ensure plants are getting all they can handle without frying my plants.

As of right now I am considering meters from Trolmaster $500cdn and Photo Bio $230cdn.

I honestly don't think I need one rigged in 24/7 like the Trolmaster is or can be. But I do like how the Trolmaster can be seen on the Trolmaster app. I do like the price of the Photo Bio but I do not know much about its accuracy.

The Photo Bio is probably the one I should get, just not sure if it is quality or not considering how much cheaper it is then any of its competitors?

Decisions decisions.
