The King Grows

I almost gorgot with all the exitement of getting my lights up, I also received my seeds today.

I purchased:
5x feminized Fuel Og by Ripper Seeds
5x feminized Washing Machine by Ripper Seeds

And since I ordered via The Attitude Seed Bank, I got 7 freebie seeds. All of them were feminized.

Well nothing to big report, still waiting on my Trolmaster Control system to show up. Kinda looking forward to that.

I was going to order my ac this week but with the current heat wave in western Canada, there is a waitlist for the Seville Aura 12k btu mini split I want.

I did manage to get the floor painted with two coats of flat white paint and then put the first coat of a semi gloss anti-slip clear coat on top for a bit of paint protection.

Well I wish the progress was happening a little quicker but building a dream growroom is starting to get a little bit expensive and I can only buy so much at a time.

I realize there are many diy projects I could be doing to cut costs but after my wife had a fire in my last growroom, she said I could build my dream growroom and diy just isn't something I dream of.

But anyways as slow as it is going, it is coming together eventually. Today I built a table that will support my two reservoirs ~6" higher than the auto pots and I also installed the Trolmaster control system. It is definitely a pretty sweet system. So glad I went with it.

So I had wanted to buy a par meter but considering that once I set up my lights and put it away, I will probably not use it again. $240+/- for a meter is a hard one to swallow considering all the other stuff I MUST buy before I can grow in this room.

Lastnight while looking at meters, I stumbled across an app that measures ppfd!

I had thought what is this witchcraft, can it be real, can this actually work? I thought to myself well it's a free app so I dowloaded it and tried it on my lights.

Par Test of a single Spiderfarmer SF 4000

Test 1 @ 12" from light dead center:
Ppfd app: 2,568ppfd
SF Par Test: 2,478ppfd

Test 2 @ 18" from light dead center:
Ppfd app: 1,759ppfd
SF par test: 1,558ppfd

Test 3 @ 22" from light dead center:
Ppfd app: 1,572ppfd
SF par test: 1,197ppfd

I am guessing that since the par app starts to deviate from th SF data the further away I get from the light might be an error with the app or could it be my diamond cut mylar is reflecting more light the further I get from my light? Not sure. Gonna do more testing.

Ok, so I found a calibration mode and I adjusted it to match the Spiderfarmer results at 12". Gonna try the test again.

Test 1 @ 12"
Ppfd app: 2,467
SF data: 2,478

Test 2 @ 18"
Ppfd app: 1,610
SF data: 1,558

Test 3 @ 22"
Ppfd app: 1,408

The results are close enough now that I think this app might work for setting up my lights. The 22" measurement was my biggest discrepancy between the app and the Spiderfarmer data but I think this is due to the brand new super clean mylar reflecting light back more and more as the light sensor gets further from the light.

Now to turn all 3 lights and see what she can do. This should be fun because apparently Iam a fucking nerd with nothing better to do.

I will never ever put these lights within 12" of the plants but I did want to have an idea what is going on with the light spread so I'll start at 12" and move to more reasonable distances like 20", 24" and 30".

All these tests done at full power with 3 lights on over a 4x8 table.

OMFG!!!! I love that 30" ppfd chart, all but the dead center measurements are on the outer edge of my 4x8 grow space. Across most of the table I am above 1250ppfd. Combined with a healthy dose of CO² and some good nutes, I think this little room is gonna kill it.

Notes on previous tests:

-All tests were done using an Android app called "Ppfd Meter" on a Samsung S9.

-All readings are not 100% accurate as I was holding my phone above myself as tried to stay out of the light and snapping a screen shot while not being able to see my phones screen.

-I suspect these reading to be off by 100 to 200ppfd as I feel it was reading the ppfd a little high. So basically,I think the 30" measurements would be ~750ppfd to ~1,350ppfd but once again this is just a guess.

Just a hunch.....but considering the planning and work done here I'm pretty sure that room is going to absolutely kill it, you sure seem like you know what your doing.

Lastnight I got my prescription for 10grams a day or 49 plants. I wasn't going to bother with the prescription since weed is legal and honestly, I couldn't see myself getting busted but I have too much invested to risk losing it or getting shutdown. I am only planning on having 8 plants in flower at any given time, maybe 2-4 mothers and maybe 20 clones or so. The plant limit should cover my needs.

On another note, I went back to camp today. Updates might not be as exciting as they could but I gotta make some cash to pay for the last few pieces of equipment I need to start growing again.

Well 5 more days at work and I get to go home. While I have been away I started to prepare for running cat 7 to my grow room for the trolmaster system. I might also put a router in there since the mylar I have installed seems to have blocked cell service and wifi completely.

All I need to start is the ac unit and eventually the dehumidifier. Pretty sure the ac alone will be sufficent to start though.

Getting close to seeing this room in action.

How did you get a prescription ro 10 g a day?
Did you use one of those websites that you pay a fee to every year?

You can get a free 5g script for 19 plants from lyte clinic over the phone, anything over 5g cost extra.

Had mine for nearly a decade now. 50 plants would probably cost you in upwards to $1k a year. Shoot lyte a email and get the ball rolling.

Oh and a side note, you’re still allowed your legal 4 plants on top of your script too.

So 20 plants is free but 50 is a $1000, geez how much would it cost those people with a 100-400 plant count that I've read about? First born child?

Yeah, got it for $105 on a Canada day ssle. It's a completely bogus system. The way I look at it is like insurance. Just piece of mind that the law won't be an issue. I used cannabis growing canada. They were very fast.
