alright darren hows things dude, great to know your still alive....

on the root rot.. no it would if it was stagnant but as you feed when needed the "res" is never stagnant also its basicly wet stones with "some" water in there, the plants wick it up as needed, also you flush them every now and then so they get fresh water, if you are ever concerned all you have to do is slightly tip the buckets with the hole faceing the floor and drain them, or simplly keep the water comeing and it will run off through the holes...

works a treat, been doing it about a year now and no problems at all...

Got a shackzilla going in a scrog now AE, posted a few pics a few pages back. I'll get some new pics up in the next day or two.

That scrog's coming along nicely Jasper, plenty of light on each cola and lots of time left to fatten up.

Darren: I have been treating the lawn and a flower patch every month since January with a compost tea made up of 15 litres water, 3 tablespoons of molasses,a cup of earthworm castings and some alfalfa meal bubbled in dechlorinated water .The lawn looks completely new and flowers have come a lot earlier this year and with a lot sturdier growth. The difference this makes to anything that grows is unbelievable. It works well for improving any plants growth, the shittier the soil, the more benefit it will have.

yea i just made my first batch the other day with the molasses & water, i had a spare bag of plagron bat mix so i just used that in a nylon sock, but i think the earthworm castings would be alot better aswell as with other supplements. i didnt get much foam after the 2nd day brew, it could be the submergible pump i tink it would work better if i was pumping the air in so il have to order a air pump & stone on ebay wen i get the dole :). where did you pick up the alfalfa meal,
also whats the best way to de-chlorinate water? should i just go get a reverse osmosis system, i hear leaving water in a bucket exposed evaporates the chlorine,

you been busy all the same, thats fantastic looking scrog.. last time i seen one like that was iam`s, and his turned out awesome...
Ya been pretty busy. I feel like she is a bit slow considering its a short flowering strain. I wonder if the fact i top off with cold water everyday is affecting her growth. I haven't iam's scrog. Do you have a link for it? I researched and drooled over scrogs from scorryballs, mr2shim, daytz and the likes. Great scrogs!

Thanks iam. I take its your previous scrog that ae86 is mentioning? If so how did that end up for ya? Do you have a journal for your new scrog grow?

Your asnswer is yes. Let your water reach room temperatures, roots reject cool or cold water, they tend to like 65F+ in order for nutrients to assimilate prperly in the soil. Sorry, had to poke my nose in on this one :)

Thanks Jay. You got a grow going on yourself? That is some cola in your pic aswell. What strain is it? GDP?
Yeah, have a small perpetual grow going at the moment..
that strain was the first seed I ever bought, it was a purple widow from one of the head shops that were once open around here..

Dont apologise buddy! Thats what we are all here for. To help one another out :) Thanks for the advice. Im a bit worried about adding room temp water as the heat from the grow tent may get that water even warmer and i wouldnt want to risk root slime or any other root problems. But I will try that theory out from hereon in and see how it reacts. By the way you mentioned soil. I should have said that im growing in hydro and she gulps a gallon a day!

Ahh nice one. Theres a lovely purple tone to it. Do you have a grow journal for your current grow?

Haha, propbaly should`ve referenced that Jasper. Should still apply the same on a lesser scale with hydro, cool water will definitely help to keep your res cooler, but water still shouldn`t be under 60F (don`t think that should be an issue for you). So used to dealing out soil advice I instantly jumped to the norm, haha. Happy growing mate,

hard to tell from the pic but are they flowering or was it the ph flux thats caused the shade difference? normally the heads change that colour once flowered right??
no not flowering yet just put them in 12/12 last sunday so its only been five days but by this time next week I expect them to show balls or white hairs I hope for the latter.

yeah if the water is below or above 60F it has little oxygen in it so 65 is optimal for soil and hydro, shit I have to run my AC as cold as it will go so my cab doesn't get to hot right now its only 70F so the water should be in the upper sixties.

not yet but the process has started... fun times ahead now watching the weight come on ;) do you find the start of flower to be as boreing as the start of growing? only gets intresting once the pistils are abundant i think...

how long did you veg md? three weeks or so?

quality cab tho, love the clean and neatness of it, my space is somewhat more hodge podge hahahahaha...

oh and fingers crossed for hairs for you, hate getting balls had to toss a power plant the other day on account of them... your hippie headband is going into paper towel in the morning, with some lemmon haze for this years out door, thinking of 12/12 all the way with them at least until there tall enough to go outside, well have to really, can`t run my lights any longer and have no other spot to run them under the 6500k cfl`s at 18/6...

close AE I vegged for 5 weeks because of my ph meter not being calibrated, it affected some but the two big ones had no problem at all. For now on I'm calibrating my meters monthly!!

I hate the veg period because you never know if you are going to have a problem to deal with once they start flowering and blowing up is when I love what I do!!!!

The small one I have is the only hippy headband that made it so I hope you get yours to grow out nice and big so I know what its like, I still have more and its suppose to be very nice smoke shit headband itself is a dark purple color so i can only imagine what the hippy headband will look like and the elephant stomper, the big ones I have should be nice I did a lot of research and saw a lot of pics of it and i hope I get the grape stomper pheno!! if I do I will shit myself I have been chasing that grape stomper from gage green genetics for a long time but its always sold out so I went with hazeman cause he uses it a lot in his crosses.
