You don't really need all seperates as such... My first grow lamp was a security light... I also bought a second one for about €80...

Nice cheap easy way of getting growing....!

I eventually upgraded to digital ballast as the security lights were magnetic and also mh and hps were NOT interchangeable

so the light he was on about was a security light then probably....

haven`t settled on one yet still exploreing my options, and as i`ll be vegging under cfl`s for next two weeks gives me a little wiggle room to leave it for a while and get as much as i can in, inline fan hood fan etc

The purpose of a remote ballast is to keep the ballast out of the grow tent/room or up on the wall away from the plants where it can be hung. Most ballasts (even digital ones) heat up a shitload, and we try so hard to cool our grow spaces. I like to keep my ballasts outside my tents with my extractor fans blowing on them.

Plus those fixtures are pretty big and heavy, imagine it fell and annihilated your plants? I dropped one of my cooltubes one day, was rough!

Fuck that! It's like €120 for a 600w package at Bloomandgrow.ie! Add a €45 cooltube and hook it up to your existing exhaust and you've pretty much your lighting sorted. Should you choose to expand you can just add another 600w, cos they're the most energy efficient lamps.

safe to use credit card on that site? dont want my statement to say hydro store or sum shit, i doubt the cops would have that little to do that they would try and trace somebody spending under 100 euro i just need a 125 watt cfl for seedlings
