In the beginning I tested my ph and was 7 so was happy enough to use just tap water but after a bad lookin plant after watering I tested ph and was 8.2 from the jug u had used so sitting out for a day or 2 under lights in a grow tent changes ph drastically, potentially. Light green is new foliage but think it’s a lil light so I think I’m watering improperly still a bit

The light growth is probably the high pH, its zinc lockout that causes that pale new growth. Once ya get the ph in range it'll be grand tho

Auto Blackberry at day 82 from seed. I'm struggling to decide when best to chop her down. There's no sign of any fade and still some white pistils on lower buds. I wonder should I just go by the trichomes?

She's a beaut man! I'd wait for trichs to change, IMO the days advertised compared to the actual time it takes can vary wildly depending on environment and phenotype.

I need to get a better eye loupe. I bought a shitty ebay one and it's hard to make out what state the trichomes are in. I can't see much change in her over the past 1-2 weeks so I might chop her this weekend. The sweet smell from her is making me impatient lol

I'm using DIY led cobs I put together a few years back. I have 4 in total but due to height restrictions the lighs are only 4-6" from the canopy and the plants dont really receive much spread from the other adjacent lights, just the one directly above each plant. For 50w each they can put out some nice buds.

I'm looking to try a quantum board soon as they are supposed to be even better

I usually have the white reflectors off but I couldn't get the camera to focus without them on. I know some people make frames and a nice tidy job of theirs but I just used what I had lying around the shed. I have space issues so they need to be moved regularly. They've been in use for a while now and no issues but I took a break for 2 or 3 years. They're Cree CXB3590 chips if I recall correctly. You can only see 2 in the pic but there's 4 in total attached to one driver.

Thanks fishbulb but I have one on order already.

I was flicking back through this thread and noticed you use autopots. Would these be a good idea for a perpetual grow? I don't mind hand watering now but it may be a different story when we're allowed go away for a weekend once all this covid crap is easing off.

Are you getting rid of these lights as soon as your new one has arrived??

No I'm keeping them. I also have a pair of Mars Hydro 400 lights for seedlings but some of the leds are failing and they aren't very efficient so I'll be getting rid of those instead

Auto pots are awesome I have a 220litre Res and can go away on holiday for 2 weeks and they will be happy out when I come home. I've been using them for 7 years now. Tried blumats but couldn't get them to work and flooded my tent a number of times. Not ideal in a two story rental

I'm lacking in headroom so I'm not sure if I can sacrafice any more by adding autopots. This is also the reason I do a perpetual grow, I keep smaller plants to the back and move them into the higher area in flower.
This also might cause problems as everything is on a different stage of feed, although I suppose for a week to 10 days everything bar the coco pots would prob be OK on water?

I plan to fit a drain on to the tray before I go on any extended holiday. That way at least if it floods it won't cause any hassle. I've set up a pump to auto water for a few mins when I grew years ago. Did the job but I didn't add any nutes to the reservoir

That's handy to know, the Mars 400 wasn't their best light so no harm to put it to better use. Are there plans online for this?
